My parents taught me the value of work. I worked in my parents store, from the early age of 7. Took us traveling. Left us with the profits.bigsmile

My dad died when I was nine and my mom instilled lots of family values into myself and my three sistersflowerforyou, she taught us family is everything and life is too short to spend it arguing, she also taught us to tell each other "I Love You" everyday, you never know when they aren't going to be around to say it to.

Ironically, some of the worst things have turned out to be some of the best...ultimately, learning
life lessons and breaking old bad patterns/habits is VERY positive.

My parents invented Choclate extract they owned a cake decorating store. One day some lady from weight watchers came in and asked for it. So they had it made up and patent it. And me and my brother had a full time job bottling it.

My mom has taught me how to be a strong woman, who has opinions, who is intelligent and who isn't weak. She was never a woman who would submitt to just anyone based on gender, and a significant other doesn't define you. Plus, she's got a wicked sense of humor that some might even call raunchy (teaches me that when laughter is gone, then things get bad really fast).

My father has taught me that there's nothing but "hard" work. He says "Work isn't meant to be fun that's why it's called work."
More often then not I think he's right...

My parents taught me that you are only as good as your word, and when you give it, it is bond. Don't lie for any reason. When you die you want people to remember you for your honesty and integrity.

My mother taught me that every man is just at a different stage of boyhood, and if you can find one in their early 20's you are doing well. I took her literally.

No one can take your pride, intelligence, or your vigor unless you let them.

My mother taught me how to cook from scratch, then told me the secrets later....Betty Crocker does it better anyway.

My dad taught me that when the sh*t hits the fan, STEP TO THE SIDE.

They taught me to own up to my mistakes, in the long run it is less harmful to fix the problem than to evade it.

My mom taught me to stand up for what I believe in, no matter what popular opinion is, or what others say, the only person you have to answer to is the one that looks at you when you brush your teeth in the morning.
