Smiless,

Why were you rude to me about my father?

I hope he didn't mean to be rude about your father, but I will say that I will be happy to hang out with your dad, winx, where ever we are sent. If he has a fairly good sense of humor, we should get along fine. I'll watch out for him if no one else will.

I gotta say though, that I felt a stab in my heart when you said it was his choice. I guess I really can't get a handle on how easy it is to give one's loved ones away for a god that has never once shown himself to modern man or to one that would expect such a horrible choice to be made. I wish I could understand that, and I mean no sarcasm there.

You might feel it's his choice, but I would be wiping away tears as you left your father behind and I would be mad as hell with a god that forced you to make that decision.

Winx, I know you have to wonder, how could you not..

Smiless,

How am I rude? I am stating the facts of what Christians belief concerning the Bible they study.

It was the sarcastic way that you said this about someone's loved one (who is not in the best health, btw):

"then make sure to say goodbye to your father as he won't make it there."

She indicated if you scroll up that she often wonders (pertaining to my question I ask) what will happen to a agnostic person in which she indicates that her father is one.

Now if she believes in the Bible then she should know that her father (agnostic) will not make it.

Smiless, maybe this could help> christians are just people like anyone else, not all who profess christ are of that undersatnding of the bible. its a very involved issue, not to be taken lightly. I will leave you with this, Christ probably was speaking about his teaching's, not just his blood!

Sometimes reality hurts some say. I am not bashing anyone. If by me saying that her father a agnostic doesn't believe in the bible and she does then she well possibly not be able to see her father when she makes it to heaven.

I so happen to believe that everyone will make it regardless of what one believes. If anything as the world continues to spin so will our lives as of this universe.

Thank you, Boo.flowerforyou

I do wonder. I have something that I believe in AND I have soo many questions that will never be answered.

No, it's not easy.

Btw, I am a Christian but I will never call you a heathen, queer, or immoral. Not all Christians are alike. I'm a liberal that voted for Obama. lol

If you see it as sarcastic then I apologize for I only wish everyone the best of health. Those who know me I am the last person to be sarcastic. Maybe some dry humor at times, but not sarcastic.

If you find the Christian belief system satisfying then continue by all means. I also hope that your father finds peace with himself regardless in what he believes in.

I'll tell you, I am surrounded by you dang christians up here in TN, I don't have any friends up here that aren't christian, but I love them because inspite of what they might believe, they treat me very well, and when one neighbor told a new family moving next to me to keep them young girls away from me, they stood up to that neigbhor. It was they who told that neighbor I was gay not a child abuser.. ugh

Turns out the new neighbors who are also christian treat me like I am part of their family. That feels very very good.

Anyway I have been very lucky in life to know many wonderful people of all faiths and no faith, and no matter what, if there is a god and he/she forces me to make a choice, I will be going where your Dad is going, where ever that is.. Maybe you can come visit, if it's not too hot.. grin!

Obama.. way to go. I was convinced he would win, but then after a while worried that maybe he wouldn't with all the uglyness going on. But even though he isn't exactly going to change things for me personally, I am histerically happy that he won. And I sincerely hope that he does well.

I also love the fact that he is willing to work with both sides of the isle. It remains to be seen if they will work with him.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. And whosoever believeth in him shall have everlasting life"

I guess those who don't, won't

No second chances! Wow then America has been a great country to those who came here as immigrant getting a second chance in life.laugh

It is almost as if God is saying: either you believe or perish you heathen! You had your chance to understand!

could be that is EXACTLY what he is saying. If he is God then he gets to make the rules

whether we like em or not

now that is what I call power with a iron fist!laugh

I would think that the creator of heaven and earth would get to make his own rules and not care what the creations thought about it

does the potter care what the pot thinks?

And since the pot can't think, the pot returns the favor. So why would a Potter spend so much time lording it over her creations?

I rather suspect all of this religious business has more to do with the pots' quarrels amongst themselves over "My Potter is bigger than your Potter". All to the complete disinterest of the Potter, who has long since taken up Basketweaving.

The closest I can relate to what you're feeling is when I visited my brother in Louisville last month. It was my first time there. I was surrounded by McCain yard signs and the cars had Bush bumper stickers. I felt like a fish out of water.

I can't believe the stupidity of people that put the words, child abuser, in the same sentence as gay.

It sounds like your new neighbors will be good ones.

My Dad will get along with you. He's wise and funny.

I like wise and funny, it's a health combination. The God I prefer to envision if I must, would be wise and funny and emapathise with how complicated his creation has made it for others in his creation. I would like to think there is a heaven especially for people like me, and your dad and your uncle and you and ... oh well I will stop dreaming now before I get carried away.

I was actually blown away but what McCain became in this race, and the insults of Palin toward people not of the christian base.

Personally I think it lost the race for him, he just became what people were so tired of over the past 8 long years. Very sad.

As for child abuser being equated with being gay, it gets much worse in places like where I live right now. We are equated with far worse. I can bearly stand to hear it, but I am used to reading about it. Funny how a minority learns to cop with such things. We continue to survive, and for the lucky among us, very well despite the set backs.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. And whosoever believeth in him shall have everlasting life"

I can only assume that means, tough, who cares if you are unsure.. frustrated

Smiles, I would love to believe there is a God that is so in tune with his creation that he completely understands why someone would be confused. And would be equally saddened that his own creation doesn't have more empathy for each other than they currently do.

I hope smiles that the god that I might believe in is more empathetic than the people that profess to be sure of where you might end up.

Ok...let's get something straight here!!!

God is NOT gonna send someone to hell, just because he still is confused ...or doesn't quite believe yet!!!

God has more empathy than that.

Man is ONLY cut off from God one way only...

and that is....

by Rejecting GOD!!

Meaning......

Man is NOT cut off from God,
because he still doesn't yet quite understand the gospel message yet....

or becasue is still confused about what he beleives yet!!!

Ok?

God ain't done with you or anyone yet, Smiless..

and is a patient and loving God...

and understands that you don't quite understand some things yet !-!

Smiless...just keep on seeking....

don't feel you have to be pressured to believe ....

just be yourself with God...

cause believe me My Friend.....

God is not looking to cast you into the pit of hell ,
the first chance he gets...
just because you don't believe yet!!laugh:heart:flowerforyou

In fact, God don't even want you recieving Him , until you truly BELIEVE on Him first!-!

And that day will come..all in its own time.

God is not gonna beat you over the head, just becasue you don't yet quite believe yet.

But Smiless.....

what I feel IS happening with you is this:

God is drawing you unto Him, Smiles.flowerforyou

And as God draws you,
God will also make Himself clear to you, Smiless....

all in good time.... about Who He Is.

God is the One that Draws and saves man....

it is not man's doing in the first place.......

man's part is just accepting and beleiving ....

but

ONLY when he is

R-E-A-D-Y TO B--E-L-I-E-V-E....

W-I-L-L-I-N-G-L-Y.....

and MEAN IT with His heart!!

And that's the ONLY way God
wants us to Beleive on Him!

Not as Robots, or forced....
but
of our own free will...

done willingly from the heart!!

And again....

only God knows when that time will be, when man believes and receives.

God gave man a free will...to choose....

but God also is patient...

cause again....

God wants us to come to Him willingly.

No other way.

Be Blessed Now, Smiless.

Winx....have you shared the gospel with your dad yet?

If you haven't, God will use someone that will.....
even a ministering angel.

See...

a man has to REJECT Christ,
in order to be cut off from God....
and
not just because he is agnostic.

I shared Christ with my atheist friend,
who truly accepted Jesus and meant it ,
just a couple of days before he went home.

And he smiled and said yes....
he meant it...
and
I saw the sweetest most peaceful smile on my friends face.

God can reach people in ways we can't....

and if we don't share the love of Jesus with our loved ones....

then God will send even a ministering angel, if God has to....

to reach that person one last time...

cause God is that merciful.
