Lately I’ve been afraid
Of all of the things
I might not obtain.
By no means am I afraid of dying.
That’s one of the only things you have to do.
I’ve bleed for people
For no reason
Cried alone
For the same persons
Drank myself stupid
Why
I’m afraid I’ll never get the chance
To be the father and husband
I’ve always wanted to be.
That I’ll die alone
Somewhere before I’m thirty
Not even by my own hand
Some freak accident maybe?
A shot to the head in a far off land?
Or a knife in an alley for my wallet.
It doesn’t really matter.
Why
I just don’t care.
