How long do you think the average time should be before you commit to someone?? Like say how many dates or how long you've been friends.

As long as it takes to form that kind of relationship. You can't just say "well, we've been together for 6 months, now's the time to be serious".
My personal "relationship flowchart" looks something like this: Friends -> Dating -> Love/Romance -> Partners -> Relationship -> Engaged -> Marriage. And it ranges from person to person. It's entirely possible to skip one of those steps, or to have love/romance before friends or dating. Most of the time (obviously) a relationship stops somewhere in the first two steps. But really, the simple answer for you is to find out if you're both interested in that level of commitment. It could be 2 dates it could be 6 months! Good luck! |

I don't believe you can set an amount of time as to when it is time to commit.Depends on each couples circumstances and wants. To rush in to quickly is almost always a mistake.Let your head lead you and your heart follow close behind.Never let another pressure you into something your not sure of. not an easy ? to be honest answered.Good luck to you.

I have met girls (later becoming my g/f) that only take one look and I was immediately drawn to and she felt it too, she told me.
There were other times when it took more than 6 months of get-to-know and get used to before we actually started to really act like we're together. Breaking up was in a similar fashion. The spontaneous love took one night to break up, (although it was very painful), while the slow one was equally slow process to get out of it. |

I personally feel that it happens very quick. I have only truly loved one person and i felt that way after the 2nd date.

That is something that is a case by case basis. You can't make that kind of plan up and expect it to appy to everyone. Also, commitment can happen from the very beginning. You can commit to see how the relationship is going to go, where it's going to go, etc. from the beginning.
