We all know each others view points. We know that some are religious and some are not, with both extremes represented and everything in between. Has anyone ever said in this forum, "You're right, God does exist." or, "I was wrong, there is no God." ? If not then why do we bother to discuss it? All we seem to do is create arguments and make everyone angry. Both atheists and the religious want peace, love and happiness. WTF is our problem? Why can't we just all get along?

There's a Nobel Peace prize waiting for the person who can answer that!
But there is some benefit that comes out of some of these debates. I personally have been involved in several "discussions" that caused me to re-think some things about my own beliefs. And although my beliefs have not changed in any major way, a number of sort of "fuzzy" things in my beliefs have become more clear to me. Mostly it stretches my mind. Of course there are those who's sole purpose is to cause upset and strife, they are few and easily avoided if one so desires. |
