Y'know, come to think of it, I'm gonna refer back to my OP. I mentioned that most, but not all, of the threads I've made have required thought. Some were just "fun", some were quirky, etc. Such as, "What would happen if the whole world farted at once?", or "#1 song on the day you were born", or maybe even, "Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?" Any of those has GOT to be at least as interesting and entertaining as Dr. Pepper or a few extra pounds. Are you trying to tell me I missed such titillating subjects such as "What would happen if the whole world farted at once" and #1 song on the day you were born?" I guess this calls for you reposting said threads just so I could reply.

anything with any type of intelligence will always falter, sorry, but true. If you are looking for intelligent conversation in the forums you are out of luck. 
that is not correct per say but when you discuss a subject intelligently once all views are posted and the final thought on those views are posted the only way it will grow to 50 pages is to turn it stupid and those with the need for inteligent debate try not to do that but some do resort to some juvenile posting style which is baiting to try and degrade the flow of intelligence and one think leads to another on occasion which gets the thread deleted because of one or two posters that do not want the thread left on the board cause they did not present their views in a good enough manner to prove their point but hey what do i know |

If you look at the majority of the threads there are good topics with serious questions and interesting subjects where someone can use is gray matter and there are the fun ones and the stupid ones, each as its part and its usefulness.
What gets me is the people that do not know where a silly remarks or a smart ass answer goes there are threads for that and then there are threads for intelligent answers and support advice, would hope that people sometimes use better judgment. |

Alz,
I don't think that someone posting a silly comment in a "smart" thread automatically kills the subject. If it does, then I am probably guilty, but everyone has their own sense of humor and sometimes I see something in a thread that was meant to be serious, but it trips something in my brain that makes me say something inane. There is a difference though if they deliberately post something snide or insulting. |

Now let's help this fine chap hit "50" pages, please Without Prejudice Sir, although this is indeed a dating site it is also a community ( in case you hadn't noticed) and although it may be an online community it is never-the-less a community. As with any community there are churches (The Religious Forums) reading ( Poetry Forums) etc,etc. Some of us have been members of this community for a long period of time and have formed friendships just as in real life, there are times when some of us feel the need to "let our hair down." Now, with that said, maybe you could post something of interest to me and I will try my best to help you make it to 50 pages. |

Did you ever think that the reasons threads do not make it to 50 pages is that people take things too seriously. Some think they are too smart for topics, some think others are just plain stupid or not on their level, some get offended by opposing views, some get berated for expressing an opposing view, some just chose not to participate, some feel they and only their way is the right way, and others like myself express my views and opinions with a twist of humor. You can have titillating conversation and fun at the same time by respecting all members. jmo
