why is a prescription related to weight when your organs do all the work? does your liver get bigger if you weigh more? Hmmm....I think it has more to do with the capacity of your bloodstream, combined with the amount of tissue ( body mass ) that the medicine in question needs to get through to work. Medicine works in much the same way alcohol does. It gets absorbed into the bloodstream and then gets dispersed throughout your body. A larger person can usually take more alcohol into their body before feeling the same effects that a smaller person would with a smaller amount. |
