I can't believe he really won! I'm beyond happy. McCain's concession speech was very classy & he is calling for unity. I'm beginning to believe Obama can really make it happen! Democracy at it's best! Yeah!!

As a person who supported McCain and voted for McCain, I listened to President Elect Obama's speech tonight. If anything, it was what I expected from him. I have never doubted that man has hope for what he can do. He has always stated this throughout his campaign. But what he says in a campaign is now going to weighed and measured on him once he is sworn into office.

If anything, I will support him because he is my President. I will hope and pray that he can accomplish what he believes he can. I know we all want this. After spending this evening listening to analysts, listening to opinions, and then finally hearing him speak, the optimism is their. But the reality is, and TD Jakes said this best, that Obama will never be anymore popular than he is on this night. Tonight, he is loved. And rightfully so. But months down the road, things will change. Now all these promises he has made will need to be worked upon. Yes, I know that not all promises can be kept. Or, at least, that is the thought process. But had you asked me one year ago could a minority win the Presidency in 2008, I would have laughed at you. What a difference a year makes huh? So in this respect, I am holding Obama to alot. With the help of many, he got to this point. Now..it is time for him to deliver.

Can he unite Washington? He is gonna have to. Can he help lead America out of this recession? He will need Congress to do it. Can he fight terrorism to keep us safe? Must feel he is weak in this area, but in this respect he needs to lean on experienced men and women to help him here.

Yeah, most of you will be happy that Bush will be gone soon. But now, you have what you wanted. Your guy is in the hot seat. And now, more than ever, we are calling on a President to tackle all these problems. To face enemies of not just Bush, but more importantly of this country. Obama inherits a mess. That is no lie. But he inherits it nonetheless. It will be interesting to see what he does.

My hope is that many Republicans (like I am) will embrace him now. We have to. If we love this country enough, if we want our economy to thrive again. And if we want to make this country stronger than it has ever been...we have to stand with him. Not against him. No, I don't believe in him. No, I don't believe he can do all he has said he can. At least, not right now I don't. But, things change. Times change. And, in this respect, I will support him and hope and pray that he can lead us towards better and brighter days.
