Dating does not have to be so expensive. Why do men think they have to spend a lot of money to impress a woman? If I am out on a date with you I am already impressed. Try throwing money around to see my reaction & you might not like my response.

Exactly. I don't see why a lot of money needs to be spent. Those men who are spending a lot of money are trying to impress women in the wrong way.

I didn't read all the post so I might be redundant here. To me if a guy is spending more than he can afford on a date we won't be dating long.
I am not a person that believes that dating should be expensive. There are way to many things to do that either doesn't take much money or any at all except for gas, to me the whole idea of dating is nothing more than to get to know one another.
Don't get me wrong there are times where I would love and really be awed to be pampered and treated to a really expensive date as I would do the same for him.
In this day in age I don't believe the men should be the ones that should foot the entire financial end of the dating spectrum.Do I go out and spend several hundred on a new outfit for a date with a man no I am not going to do that.

If guys are spending over $100 on a date, then they clearly don't live in my area. I have NEVER had to spend that much money. Not that I couldn't, but because it's never been necessary. As far as ladies supposedly spending more on preparation, that's completely on them. A woman can look just as good in a pair of Levi's and a ponytail as she can in a $500 outfit. Plus, if she's that materialistic, requiring the finest things, it would never work out anyway. That ain't how I roll.

Q-man said it best -- it's not how much money you spend, it's how much quality there is while spending time together.

The average guy over 30 usually spends $100.00, or more on a date.

Should we start going Dutch....or hitting the fast food joints ?

Funny....I just went out last night and I spent $2.00 on drinks and put $10 in the tank and free dancing at the local Honky Tonk.....he bought his own beer. Had a great time, too. It's not always expensive, or at least it doesn't have to be.

I take it back -- there was ONE time I spent over $100 on a date. We wound up at either Great America or Valleyfair, I forget which.

Gimme a break! It was a million years ago! I can't even remember what I had for breakfast.

I actually had a couple of women at work that informed me if the _meal_ wasn't $100 dollars, the date wasn't worth their time. Fortunately, both were married, so I didn't have to care, but . . .

These type of women give the rest of use a bad name and leave a horrible taste in the decent women's mouths

well, seeing as I have one pair of stilettos I adore, and my thong sandals and a pair of white sneakers and my boots for winter, I think I am good on the whole shoe part. However, I do only have one pair of socks and I seem to keep losing the partner...

Only FOUR pairs of shoes????

Someone get me a cold cloth... I feel faint.

I'm sure women like that are out there, but I'm willing to bet most women are not like that.

Honestly most of the women I've actually "dated" aren't. I was just giving examples. BTW the women who expected $100+ meals worked overnight stocking groceries in a Wal-Mart. Just to put things in perspective

if she cares how much the date costs then
she simply is not interested in you

the best dates are free
and they always will be

Well, I spent over $150 yesterday...but that was for the tow and new tire! The date itself didn't even cost $10, ignoring the cost of gas.

Oh, and I kidded her when we finally got together...

"You cost me a lot of money!" and she replied, "And you haven't even got to know me yet!"

I like.

I do gotta point out...I have more than once dropped a couple hundred dollars on a date...(of my own free will) they were good, happy and memorable dates....they also got me laid till just shy of needing traction...I never have regretted an expensive date...no woman ever asked me to spend the extra money...I always just did it cause it just seemed right.
