For the past 10 years, I've noticed an increase in the addition of 's' to words that are already plural.
Now I'm hearing these all the time, even on t.v. Deer has become Deers. Beer has become Beers. Elk has become Elks. Moose has even become Mooses. What happened? |

But the real tragedy is the constant misuse of apostrophes: "I saw two deer's drinking two beer's in front of two elk's and two moose's." When will people figure out that apostrophes are almost always only used for possessives and contractions? NOT plurals. It's not rocket's science, folk's. |

When I took Russian in high school, the teacher used to talk about how English had so many irregular plural forms -- children, radii, phenomena, personae, hooves, teeth, various words where the singular and plural are the same, etc.
But it just ain't that hard if you're paying attention. |
