Thanks C, my thoughts exactly, and a short version of what I would say to this person, to show them the importance of voting for McCain.
--copy-- McCain is clearly a Republican, with some conservative positions. He has promised to appoint judges who will interpret the law, not make it. He has promised to make the Bush tax cuts permanent. And he has promised to fight government spending, to veto any bill with earmarks, and to roll back entitlement programs—positions that, these days, it is an act of nostalgia to describe as “Republican.” --snip-- What is a conservative? Essentially, someone who is temperamentally suspicious of government. That’s why conservatives argue for limited government, economic freedom, low taxes, and fewer regulations. The bumper-sticker version might be: “If in doubt, keep government out.” --snip-- Meanwhile, Senator Barack Obama has been named the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate by National Journal. and That demonstrates a healthy skepticism of both government’s competence (think Katrina clean-up) and its fuzzy benevolence, which generally involves toying with any activity that begins with the letters A through Z, scolding people for their behavior (and, er, persuading them to change it), or redistributing their wealth. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=NTNhYTQ4YTcyYjg3NDcxYThmZmJkODc5OWVmM2I4ZGU= --end copy-- And if you vote for O, he and his agenda are VERY liberal- BB |

I think Republicans are worse because of their gun toting, war mongering, money spending, bible banging, abortion hating, and gay bashing ways, but the truth is they ALL just want to create the illusion that the voters have the power to choose their government.

Republicans are worse and my reasons for this are as follows:
The republican platform fits and feeds the white supremacist in our country. Their ideal that all poor people are there because they are lazy and deserve it, fits the racists ideal that all minorities are lazy and try to live off the system. Their ideal of small government feeds the ideal of the racists because how can they keep the minorities "in their places" if the federal government will intervene and make them play fair. Their ideal of religion making them morally superior fits the ideals of the white supremacists that believe the true tribe of the bible is the white Christian and anything and all others are unAmerican. Both believe that forcing religion on the country will fix ills in the country but they are wrong. People need to be spiritually individual at all costs and they do not need it in the government or being taught to their children at school. That is all I can think of right now but I know there are more. |

Honestly the true republican is what we need the msot of. There are times for the dems, but not in the near future.
Democrats generally stand for Big government, big spending, aggressive foreign policies of intervention. The true conservative stands for the opposite. The old school dems would rather give a man a fish, the the old school republicans, the real conservatives, believe in teaching the man HOW to fish and letting him fend for himself... But there seems to be WAY too much overlap these days... |

ok, lets try this again, let's say that it's a dead heat between obama and mccain and only one vote is needed to decide the winner (winner... ha!) and you've been chosen to to try to get the last voter to choose whoever your choice for president is, what would you tell the person? "Vote for an independant" |

"Vote for an independant" Hell yeah....good party choice there. With the acception of republican Ron Paul though.... He's good people, and probably our only hope... |

They both are to be honest with you. The reason I get a headache when I have to think about politics is because how do you know (and by you I'm speaking in the universal sense so not just you yourself) what the truth is? I'm an independant voter so I sit on the fence & take my time looking to see which one is the lesser of two evils & I do this every election. Thats just my opinion though..

Do that homework!! But, if we keep voting the lesser of two evils, we will keep voting ouselves to destruction. Its like, which would you rather have, a slow painful death, or a quicker death...? If we could get EVERYONE to go third party, we are doing ourselves a favor... |

Does anyone recollect that we picked these politicians ourselves to be in power yet all we do is belly ache when they flip the script on us....................i blame all the voters not the politicians too many much complacency in our lives..............be proactive and if you think you are better then you should be a candidate instead of crying and complaining all the time...........

How about we support someone who would be a better candidate instead? I'm agrivated because the population didn't pick Obama and McCain. This choice was given to us. Ron Paul was the most popular republican candidate and recieved more support from the people than all the rest combined i think... Media didn't want him. As i said earlier, if he were in just one debate, and put on the ballots, he would win the popular vote from both dems and republicans... |

Republican and Democrat only represent two differing theories on systems of governing. The same thing applies to liberal and conservative
The problem is that people seem to think that if you don't believe what they believe then they have to attack and discredit you. So Republican is a bad word to half the country and Democrat is a bad word to the other half. I've never seen so much meaness and viciousness in all my life as I have between them I'm changing my political beliefs to being an anarchist. I don't wanna be associated with so many mean people |
