 I am just an "old" fogey. I have seen 15 presidential elections in my life. For a full year before every election I have heard the Dems say:
#1: We are going to save social security #2. We are going to tax the rich and give tax breaks to the poor #3. We are going to create jobs #4. for the last 8 elections, we are going to make health care available cheap to all poor people' my response: #1. SS is still going broke and has had nothing done except raise the tax, no changes to try to make it solvent #2. Largest job creation has been after the Reagan and Bush tax cuts #3. unemployment in my home county is just over .7%, for my state as a whole is just over 3.5%. Under Clinton, it hovered around 12% in my county and 8% over the state. #4. I can still see the Dr I want without an appointment, and an office visit is $55, plus $10 if I get an antibiotic shot. Over the course of my lifetime, I have seen many tax increases directed at the "upper class" hit the middle class right in the shorts...ie the alternative minimum tax. just remember....the first casualty of a campaign is the truth, and the first promises broken are all those given in the campaign. and a parting scary thought....can you even fathom the fact that the department of HHS, or the IRS, or their equivalent will be running our banking system as shareholders? Now, not only will the IRS collect taxes, they will know just how much you have available in the bank, and how much you owe. scary thought indeed |

I am voting republican because my house has drop in value %50 and in 4 yrs it wont be worth anything.We can have a weenie roast....I wont have to work because there will be no jobs....I wont have to pay taxes since there's no jobs but hey they can borrow a couple more trillion from china....Wont be able to complain any more about big business getting all the breaks, they will leave when all the government's money runs out...Health care who needs it, we are like 24th in the world in health care anyway.Might as well shoot for the bottom....There wont be inappropriate sexual behavior in the White House, we will just use the stalls at the airport so our families are exposed to it...Social Security who needs it, we will be a welfare state anyway...Don't worry it will only be 96ys now till we are out of Iraq...Wont have to by an answering machine, the government has all the tapes anyway...Finally I want 4 more years of Bush, DAM ITS BEEN GREAT!!!!! That is great.

Teaching better responsibility is fine. I don't think prayer should be forced on students in school, though. Leave that to the parents. |
