Topic: Roadrunner Obama vs. Wyle E McCain | |

what would you propose letting the rich get richer and the poor get poorer doesnt seem to be the answer either does it? letting the government continue to collect the same pay even after retirement and reap free insurance that is top of the line til death During the 80's, the wealth for all tax brackets increased. Lower taxes on everyone. Encourage business. Liberal act like that if they tax the "rich" everything will be better. They seem to forget that the rich are the ones who keep the economy running. Are you familiar with the Laffer curve? Since it's been proven accurate every time it has been applied, maybe we should do that. Instead of raising taxes and watching the economy go into the crapper. |

I studied both micro and macro economics in college. I learned all about the trickle down policy first proposed by Ronald Reagan. Despite his allowing businesses to keep more of their money, it didn't work. They did NOT reivest the $ in their businesses. It only made the owners wealthier and their empoloyees poorer. Go Obama!! Your teachers failed you. I guess that all of the economists that I hear talking on the radio are all wrong too. I didn't know that you knew more than college professors and economists. Silly me. ![]() |

well, yes you are probably right in your opinion, but it doesn't make mccain look much better. someone has to pay for this bullsh1t our country is in and do you honestly think it's going to be the CEOS? not unless someone else steps in and TAKES it from them. So you feel that it's okay for one person to decide another person has too much success? That's really scary. We live in a capitalist society, we keep what we earn. What you are proposing is redistribution of wealth. Such proposals always result in damage to the economy, because you are punishing the people with the most success. Why should they continue to work hard? It just means they will pay more taxes. You bring everyone down instead of raising everyone up. It'll be even scarier (depression) when the consumer won't have the monies to buy goods and services. I don't mind paying more taxes. Taxes are a necessary evil. People need to have more empathy for their fellow man. |

Your teachers failed you. I guess that all of the economists that I hear talking on the radio are all wrong too. I didn't know that you knew more than college professors and economists. Silly me. ![]() Yeah...I quoted a THINK TANK of economists. A liberal think tank. Great comeback though! "Yeah, like you know better" Sorry, but I didn't offer my opinion, I offered the collective opinion (supported by facts) of a liberal think tank. ![]() He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, and he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. (Proverbs 9:7-9) I gave you the truth about Reaganomics...so guess who is the fool and who is the wise man. |

Encourage business? We've been doing that for 8 yrs. How's that going for us? The rich just get richer. The poor are getting poorer. And the middle class is going down hill. |

you have some good points... and neither of the candidates seem to propose such a strategy Which is why McCain isn't a Republican. We need another Reagan, someone who will address the terrorists the right way and fix the economy. |

If you think that is a scary idea, why are you supporting him? |

"You made fun of empathy!" No, I pointed out how foolishness of your position. You are supporting the guy who claims to only want to tax a small portion of the populous, but you think everyone should pay more taxes. Empathy is a great thing, but it's not empathy for you or Obama to take money from others and give it to the poor. That's stealing. If you have SO much empathy, then go donate your time and money to a soup kitchen, don't take from someone else's pocket and pretend you've done a good deed. |

We need another Reagan, someone who will address the terrorists the right way and fix the economy. McCain isn't the Republican candidate? ![]() His policy is more closely Democrat. You noticed that too...? Kind like Bush running on his "republican, conservative policies, then turning around and exercising the big spending, big government policies that seems closer to the "typical" dems... Funny how close Clinton, and Bush, and Bush Senior were with their actions. Not to mention how close Obama and McCain are with their suposed policies. (McCain being just a little more modest.) One of Obama's saving graces though, is that he is know for talking big, and not really taking a stance. Most of his votes are "present" from what i've heard, and the rest just fall under his party line. This is a little encouraging for me. I would rather have an Obama that does nothing, than a McCain who is ambitious. I honestly think Obama's followers can control what Obama doesn (to some extent). If they tried to influence him directly with a more or less common belief, he might follow... This could be a good thing, as long as his supporters weren't actually following him. So yeah, you Obama supporters out there... This is what we need; Modest foreign policy consisting of zero intervention, major government spending cuts, we need someone to audit the FED, and we need our dollar backed by SOMETHING. Side note: Now here is something to think about. Someday our entire system of banking will come crashing down. We need to rethink the world's entire monetary system because it is now debt-based. Meaning, if people pay off debts, and don't borrow more each time, at a steady rate, we will have what happened during the depression. This means, if the population of the world stops growing exponentially with more people borrowing money every day, we can all kiss everything we make payments on goodbye. End result possibly being that the banks will own everything, and have most of the money. Would be nice if the economic think tanks worked on that problem for a while... |

Oh, something else you Obama supporters need to push for... The constitution. Pressure Obama into throwing out the patriot act, and clintons terrorist act too. Would be nice if everyone got impeached for supporting this bailout plan too, but unfortunately that includes Obama...

Buying a car, a fridge or a candy bar redistributes wealth.
That's not evil is it? The size of government, government spending and debt have all sky rocketed under Bush. Guess what? Someone has to pay the bill. We cannot keep selling ourselves to China. How people can sit around and act like this isn't happening astonishes me. I am much more afraid of our growing debt to China and other countries than I am of taxes. |
