Thank you. I suppose that there are some that will see my post as nothing more than a " Look at me " type of thing...but that's their problem. I don't go looking for sympathy. My MAIN reasons for posting it were 1) To give a woman who says she wants a " real " guy a look at what that really means. and 2) Because I KNOW that there are others out there like me. I want them to know that they aren't alone. Thank you. And I am afraid of Synchronized swimmers |

Gotta admit that I am feeling a bit sheepish about having posted it, though. I usually don't expose myself like that. Don't be "sheepish" about what you did. You are a REAL person, not just some s/n that types words on a screen. I think too many of us forget that that there are some REAL people behind those names. Maybe the world would be a better place if we all had the courage to become vulnerable with others and not be afraid. I admire the courage you had to post that. |

Driving under overpasses as big semi trucks go across them with loads of logs or pipes or some other load that is strapped on with chains. I always fantasize that the load will break and come crashing over the side of the overpass down onto the cars going under it (me). Has been a fear as long as I can remember.
And, driving alongside a semi, I won't do it, I pass them or stay well behind. I worry about a lug nut coming loose from their wheel and flying through my windshield. I know, I know, well you did say "Irrational" after all.

yes! I hate it when they get right on my bumper. I'm always afraid I'll have to hit my brakes and they'll plow right over me. |

My irrational fear is driving over a high bridge and going over the side. I will "white knuckle" the steering wheel until all the way across. Irrational thing is I have no fear of heights or driving anywhere else. Yeah, I know that feeling, I've never liked driving over them myself.

Or driving over a high bridge during a bad windstorm when it whips you around and you change lanes without intending to. Guess that isn't irrational though, sorry.

Me too, really scary, especially if you have a truck coming up along side, or it is only 2 lanes and you are suddenly in the other lane with oncoming traffic.

It's not the lug nuts that you have to worry about. It's the tread coming off the tires that is a bigger concern. AT times, the retread bond fails and the entire tread will come off the tire. |
