Less confusion when one is trying to eat.

Smart critters listen twice as much as they talk. Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

2 ears = ability to determine the direction from which a sound is coming.
Direction is unimportant to anyhing that can be sensed with the mouth. |

exactly! Oops, sorry. Thought it was a serious question. Should have known that questions as obvious as that are rarely ever serious. So the "right" answer means that I never should have tried to give a "correct" answer in the first place. Golly gee Batman! |

Two ears, one mouth, WHY!
Like Skyhook implied; There's nothing to be gained by eating in stereo. An ear on both sides of a body is clearly an advantage for hearing approaching predators and for determining the direction from whence they are coming. This kind of question actually supports Darwinism. And Darwinism came before the real evidence for evolution actually evolved. |
