I was reading the forums on a site where someone asked "How often do women just send men e-mails out of the blue here?"

And I wrote, "Halley's Comet shows up more often. And it has a better profile."

Just wanted to share.

I send at least 20 a day......for the Matchmaking Game....does that count lex.....

See, the other site -- the one where I had this exchange -- doesn't have anything like the friendly atmosphere that so many of us enjoy here. Nobody is ever nice to anybody over there, as far as I've seen. I just use it as a place to practice getting more cynical and jaded.

I send people messages and friend requests all the time.

maybe i would get some friends if I sent a friend request...but I do send lots of e-mails though

I send emails out of the blue

Only two things have ever "worked" for me, in the very minimal sense of the term --

1.) I signed up on a pay site for 3 months in early 2006, and NEVER sent out a first e-mail. I was contacted by 174 of their members during that 3-month period, not a one of whom was anywhere near remotely compatible.

2.) After signing up with JSH in December of 2006, I sent out some e-mails to locals and never got a single reply. But after I had been here awhile and had established myself in the forums, I started getting all kinds of e-mails here. Granted, everyone who writes me is 897,000 miles away, but e-mail is e-mail.

If I ever find a way to meet anyone compatible AND local, I'll pass that along....there's one promise I'll never have to make good on....!

since i moved to Utah, things have seemed to kinda change on the local part. but there women from Vegas

you may try a local site? a newspaper ad? get a life.
really, concentrate more on the fun part and just meeting people. things happen while they can.
