Well I think most people do it for the attention, the drama it creates in their lives. It builds their self esteem, that me and my off the wall problems are worthy of notice. I bet the whole ordeal is a lot of fun for some folks.

Hummm Jerry Springer sshshshsh all that stuff is all set up and not real. That's what I heard. As a matter of fact, I was told that they go out where the line is where people are buying the tickets and get people to act out stuff on stage for them and pay them to do it. Don't know how much truth there is to that though. |

I saw a guy with a shirt on one time that read "I'm not an idiot but I played one on Jerry Springer".

anyone, I was just channel surfing when I ran across a upcoming Jerry Springer show and I just shook my head and thought why are you airing all of your dirty laundry on national television. I cant be certain of this but the Jerry Springer show might possibly be a put on. That is what I suspect but if that is the case, they will never let on. I know they pay for the airfare, their meals and accommodations to stay in a nice hotel so if you agree to humiliate yourself and go through that on national TV, you do at least get a fantastic vacation out of the deal. Thats why I cant make up my mind if it is genuine and people do it simply for that reason, or if its ALL fake and those folks are actors. Anyone know? |

me why anyone in their right mind would get on national televison and air all of their dirty laundry for the whole world to hear? It really makes no since to me. Here's the short answer- They get paid to do it. Most "Trash TV" shows (Maury, Springer, Sally-Jessy, Cheaters, most TV courtroom shows) actually PAY their guests to make fools of themselves on national TV. In some of the shows, they pay pretty well, too. Not only that, but the more lurid or scandalous the story or the more violent the confrontations, the more money the guest will likely get. And since most of the guests of shows like Jerry Springer are missing a number of teeth, chances are that they'll jump at the chance at being on television... even if it IS to make themselves look like fools. In the case of TV courtroom shows, they'll actually pay BOTH litigating parties and will even pay for the damages stemming from the originating conflict. So- in essence- they're reduced to doing what the often-toothless do on shows like Springer- look like dolts on TV. |
