if this isn't hitting rock bottom I don't know what is. It's so typical of DEMS to play up to the race card. I guess it's the only thing left to do when you run a bankrupt campaign. Play the race card. Pathetic. Can't win on the issues play the race card. I think this is slanderous & should be outlawed...this sort of campigning is the mark of a lowlife. It reminds me of why I can't vote for a DEM.
Obama Invokes Rush Limbaugh in New Spanish-Language Ads The Obama campaign has released new radio and TV ads in Spanish that seek to tie Sen. John McCain to anti-immigrant comments made by radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. The ads also suggest the Republican has "dos caras" -- "two faces" -- when it comes to his relations with Latino voters. The new messages, airing in Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico, come in response to recent Spanish-language ads by the McCain campaign that suggest Obama is responsible for the collapse of last year's bipartisan immigration reform efforts. "They want us to forget the insults we've put up with, the intolerance," the television ad's announcer says in Spanish as a picture of Rush Limbaugh appears onscreen with quotes of him saying, "Mexicans are stupid and unqualified" and "Shut your mouth or get out." "They made us feel marginalized in a country we love so much," the ad continues. "John McCain and his Republican friends have two faces. One that says lies just to get our vote and another, even worse, that continues the failed policies of George Bush that put special interests ahead of working families." The companion radio ad uses the same script as above and then continues: "Don't forget that John McCain abandoned us rather than confront the leaders of the Republican Party. Many of us were born here, and others came to work and achieve a better life for their families -- not to commit crimes or drain the system like many of John McCain's friends claim. Let's not be fooled by political tricks from John McCain and the Republicans. Vote so they respect us. Vote for a change." This Spanish-language ad battle started Friday, when the McCain campaign started airing a TV spot in Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico that laid the failure of comprehensive immigration reform at the feet of Obama and his Democratic colleagues, even though he supported the bipartisan efforts to enact such reforms and voted for their final proposal last year. It continued Tuesday when the RNC bought time in Nevada for a radio ad expressing similar arguments. The Obama campaign and Hispanic and pro-immigration reform groups denounced the ads as distortions. "I think they don't want us to pay attention to the fact that John McCain's message in English is different than his message in Spanish," said Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) during a conference call with reporters today. "If the Latino community can't count on John McCain in the heat of an election, how can we possibly count on him when the heat is really on in the White House?" Both candidates have aired Spanish-language radio and TV ads primarily in the Southwest and Florida, where growing Hispanic populations have the potential to help turn previously red states blue for Obama. A July survey by the Pew Hispanic Center gave Obama a wide lead over McCain nationwide among Latino voters, and Democrats don't plan to let the lead slip. "Whenever we get a punch from Senator McCain, we're going to counterpunch harder," former transportation secretary Federico Pena said on the conference call. "We're not going to take any vote for granted." The Obama campaign also plans to start airing advertisements next week in Florida. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09/17/obama_invokes_rush_limbaugh_in.html |

There are posters on this site that I do not agree with but I respect. Posters who step up with facts and real arguments.
There are others who can only call names and cut and paste. Some posters say libs are afraid...you know what? I am afraid. Not of those that disagree. Not of those that argue. Not of those who love this country like I do but who see a different path. I am afraid of hate mongering ignorance. I am afraid of a country that has sunk to this disgusting and infuriating level of idiocy. |

Of course, no addressing the fact Obama's as was in response to a McCain smear ad targeted at the same audience. I seem to recall that the last time campaigns were run on the issues DEMS lost hands down... that was the 103rd congress. Ever since it's always been to the dems advantage to run smear canpaigns & blame reps...REPS ALWAYS do better in HONEST campaigns...and DEMS know that all too well. That's why they prey on dumbed down kids, drunks & assorted other crazies they can cart around from place to place to vote for them. Let's not forget the lowlife race card. that's always a big hit with the dumbed down crowd. They'll never know what hit them. Some legacy... |

Of course, no addressing the fact Obama's as was in response to a McCain smear ad targeted at the same audience. oh wait..... he did it first. i love the moral equivalence of the looney left. Obama won't be rolling over like Kerry did. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." - Pulp Fiction and some book. |

Did you see the vote in the last presidential election? Nothing hands down about it. yup. or the one before it either. the dems just couldn't get the job done. first place losers are just that. "LOSERS" LQQL anyway, Palin won in landslides consistently and flawlessly. She always garnered more than 70% of the vote. Her running daily average is 73%. I know, i am splitting hairs . well, nobama isn't taking that lightly, nor are his handlers. I like those numbers. i also like Mc Cain coming out of the shadows and spanking the neocons and taking away their chance to throw the election into the laps of the looney left so they could say, neener neener bneener for the next four years. I am so glad things are going to be different in the White House. Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, revisited life is good. |

Rush Limbaugh, featured in a new, Spanish-language Barack Obama ad, says the commercial distorts his past statements and amounts to "race-baiting" by the Democratic nominee.
The commercial, to air in Limbaugh's home state of Florida as well as Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada, features a picture of the conservative talk show host and shows his words on the screen: "Mexicans are stupid and unqualified" and "Shut your mouth or get out." It was first reported by the Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe. "Obama is now stoking racism in the country," Limbaugh wrote in an email. "Obama is a disgrace - he wants the public to think he is Mr. Nice Guy while his thugs are in Alaska looking for dirt on Palin and he runs race-baiting ads and lies about what he has done and what McCain has done." As for the quotes, Limbaugh said they were taken out of context. The first, "stupid and unqualified," was from the NAFTA debate of the mid-90s, he recalled. Limbaugh, a NAFTA proponent, said in the fall of 1993 he got a call from a listener who was upset at the potential loss of American jobs. In response he said, "If we are going to start rewarding no skills and stupid people--I'm serious, let the unskilled jobs, let the kinds of jobs that take absolutely no knowledge whatsoever to do--let stupid and unskilled Mexicans do that work." Explaining his comments, Limbaugh writes: "I was referring to jobs in MEXICO. I was not discussing immigrants, illegal or otherwise." On "shut your mouth," Limbaugh produced an April 2006 transcript from what he described as a parody of Mexican immigration laws. The talk show host read a list of stringent rules, adding "shut your mouth and get out," before revealing to listeners that the guidelines were those set by the Mexican government for immigrants. The full bit from the second quote is after the jump. http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/ aND THIS LINK FROM..... http://marklevinshow.com/ |
