- keep up-to-date backups of your information, so can refer back to them in the event of a system crash or malware infection. - always have anti-virus/spyware/malware measures present in your computer, as they'll be your first line of defense when the malware comes to attack. - be careful of where you surf when online. most sites are legit and are free of spyware, while others are chocked full of crap courtesy of 14 year-old script kiddies. - if you're sending your computer to get fixed, be sure you don't have any nude pictures of yourself on your hard drive, as you might get a wee bit of a surprise in the future. |
