Topic: What "sports" will you never accept? | |
---|---|
LoL...I still can't see how people can call Golf a Sport. It cracks me
up when I see Tiger ***** and moan about noise in the Gallery (how hard is it to hit a Ball laying on the Ground? In Baseball, players like Bonds crush a 90+ mph pitch that's breaking a foot and a half out of the park while 30,000 people are yelling at them calling them every name in the book... |

I coach LL baseball and soccer has really hurt baseball, our league has
gone from 16 teams to 6 teams over the last ten-fifteen years in big part because the kids turned to soccer because it doesn't take nearly as much skill. I'll probably hear about that last comment but it's true. I've coached 24 years and my kids played baseball and Fall soccer, I feel I am somewhat qualified to make the "skill" statement. (my opinion) I'm not saying it's not a sport, I just don't get it. |

Derf, it seems to me you're saying those things are "sports" because
they require more physical exertion. I always thought of a "sport" as having three components: 1) Skill. 2) Physical activity of any level. Like, even playing chess is physical, to a degree. 3) Competition. Hunting doesnt't qualify...killing is not "sport." |

if you admit you won't accept it as a sport
is not that the first step to accepting it so to be honest there is no sport i do not accept altough some may think it is when it isn't or somethin like that just a thought but hey what do i know |

I'd fall asleep if I were forced to watch golf. I dont get it its a
snoby guy hitting a lil ball from here to there, and to match that they have "fans" who come out in masses to watch it. Its days sometimes or a weekend event BORING! I liked it much better on Happy Gilmore. |

Dwarf throwing.
Its unkind to tall people! We are being discriminated against!!! In 1986, the World Dwarf-throwing Championships were held in Australia. The USA was not represented, which may weaken the claim that the sport originated in the United States. The undisputed world champions who still currently hold the record were Team GB from London, England Danny Blue, Adam Aisthorpe, Roy Merrin and Lenny The Giant. The current proven world record for the longest throw is held by a man known only as Cuddles, a member of the group referred to as The Oddballs with a throw of 12 feet 9 inches. However, there have been many claims of over 14 feet. The longest throw yet to be proven is believed to have reached 15 feet 2 inches by a man from Topeka, Kansas named Reese Lang. The female record-holder, Lucey Normosbuthol, hails from Sweden and entered the record books with an amazing throw of 11 feet 11 inches. |
