If you are kicking your significant other out of your house..... Do you wash their cloths and fold them, or do you just throw all of it in a garbage bag?

Well that's easy enough - in a plastic bag with some nice maple syrup.

I had a bonfire with his entire wardrobe .... he was not a very nice guy

I'd wouldn't wash them, but I'd put them in the garbage bag and set it outside for him to pick up. Course, I won't be held accountable if something happens to them after.

I've never kicked anyone out in that manner, I've only lived with my exhusband and that was a civil break up, and a sociopath, and that time I packed what I could and got out while the getting was good.
It takes me along time to get to the point where I will live with someone. I've only misjudged character once, and that was enough..... |

If you are kicking your significant other out of your house..... Do you wash their cloths and fold them, or do you just throw all of it in a garbage bag? I remember when Ann Landers (if you don't know who that is...look her up) was getting a divorce. She said she not only made sure all his undies were clean, she even bought him new socks! Now in this "kick-em-to-the-curb" age, this might seem silly. But there's a certain cleansing ritual in this action, I think: You are sending them on their way knowing you've done all you can...no after effects. It's a mental "I've done what I can, bon voyage" sort of thing. By all means, clean and fold his clothes. This phrase isn't used that much anymore, but it is a "sign of class" on your part! |

I believe strongly in karma and the whole ruining his clothes and/or burning them would come back to bite me in the ass. I prefer to just get a nice big box and throw his stuff in. I wouldn't leave it outside for the neighbors to see either. I would most likely take it to him outside my house. Like mouse said, this would be my version of a cleaning. No more negativity in my house. Just get it out. It's far better to show yourself as the better person. No need to lower yourself to his level.
