Why do people make you feel guilty if you dont breast feed???

I had to stop cauze my migrains were horrable and I need to take anti depressants. But every time someone asks about it i get "ohhhh thats too bad its soo good for the baby"

i wouldn't even provide a reason as to why you don't. it's nobody's business except your own, and i wouldn't hesitate to tell someone those exact words.

I chose not to breastfeed and for those rude enough to question it, I didn't even bother with a reply. Lots of people don't for lots of reasons and there's no reason to feel badly about it. Bottle fed babies are just as happy, healthy etc as breastfed babies. And, on the plus side, daddy can pitch in on the middle of the night feedings. bigsmile

Breastfeeding isn't ALWAYS best for the baby. For example - my youngest (the only one to have been BFed) who at 5 months wasn't even 12 pounds - yet he was born at 8lb 12oz. My (.)(.) were broken laugh Or only provided skim milk I'm unsure which. Once he was started with formula he jumped from 12 pounds at 5 months to 15 pounds at 6 months.

You have to do what is right for YOU! And for your baby. Not for the nosy bittys.

That is true. My mom tried breastfeeding all 4 of us and her breasts got infected, every time. There are lots of valid reasons for not breastfeeding but it all boils down to one thing, it's no one's business but your own what your reasons might be. flowerforyou
