How many times have you been Contacted by members that asked a silly question or 2 and you NEVER hear from them again... I don't like posting Photo's buy when I do, I can understand that everyone is looking and sometimes we have to look, but contact is a 2 way street... How many times do you call someone, talk to them for a few moments, hang up and never call them again... My bet is, NOT VERY OFTEN... What do you people think of this little quirk of On-Line Dating Sites ??? |

I can't say it bothers me, because I've learned not to expect much in the way of intelligent discourse in these venues. On the other hand, sometimes you get a surprise. I got an e-mail here yesterday from someone I don't recall ever seeing in the forums, and the communication was bright and fun to read and very insightful. And she read my whole profile, which tells me a lot right there. I may not ever hear from her again, but at least I know one more person gets it. What do you people think of this little quirk of On-Line Dating Sites ??? It is what it is. There's nothing I can do to make people answer their e-mails, I can't make them post profiles with actual content, and I can't get anyone decent to move to my area. So there's no point in worrying about it. |

I prefer to ask one or two semi-intelligent questions occasionally mixed with an inane question. Then I wait for the response which never comes.
Oh yeah, I wanted to ask you two semi-intelligent questions. How often do you not respond to the first contact e-mail? Is not responding to a first contact e-mail any better than the scenario you describe? |
