I'm thinking of taking a road trip to Montreal in early april. Its been
awhile since I've been there, and I used to go frequently. I notice there are many members from the Quebec Province, I'm looking for suggestions on things to see/do around Montreal. I cant speak French, but, know enough French to get around - so making recommendations for French-Speaking-Only is welcome. Of course there's Quebec City, which can't be beat. I remember intentionally getting lost one day on the ride from Montreal to Quebec City and found myself at a waterfall park. Anyone know the name/location of that place? It was a few miles off the main highway, in a farming area. For this weekend trip I'm thinking 3 days (Fri, Sat, Sun). But, would like to plan for a longer trip later this summer - suggestions anyone? [Any kind of suggestion is welcome either posting here, or by emailing it to me. I'm interested in whatever you think is interesting, be it the local dinner, museum, club, stadium, nature site...] |

hmmmmmmmmmm... well.. there's always Notre Dame de Sacre Coeur.. in old
Montreal.. it's a HUGE church that EVERYone visits here.. then there IS Old Montreal.. you can walk around there on the cobble stone streets for HOURS!! as well walking in the Old Port which is PART of Old Montreal.. lots of things to see there.. although the weather MIGHT be a tad nippy here STILL there's some GREAT restaurents on Ste. Catherine street.. and THAT you could walk from ONE end (near Phillips Sq/University St.) to the OTHER (Pepsi Forum/Atwater St.) and it'd probably take you all day.. BUT.. it is THE main street for EVERYthing!! There's also the comedy nest.. It's in the OLD FORUM or Pepsi Forum now.. THAT's good fer a hoot!! O.. in that place you ALSO find rock climbing.. bowling.. AND a cinema..!! Sunday you can brunch at Picasso's in NDG.. GREAT place for breaky.. well .. that about covers the weekend!!! |

Oh every time I goto Montreal I always check out the Notre Dame de Sacre Coeur. Still find it dazzling. I even take a stroll through the bioDome. I'll check out the other suggestions too. Is the indoor ice rink still in the Bell buidling? How about things to see/do outside Montreal city? |
