Just need to rant and vent!

Ok! Talk about beyond irritated. I keep hearing talk both from people
and commercials on TV and at work about cutting costs and funding in
HealthCare..Everyone keeps asking me what I think about it... Well!!!!

First off I think they should be cutting costs in other areas! Because
closing down Nursing Homes and cutting healthcare is absolutely CRAZY!
Who is going to take care of the elderly when they can't get a bed in a
nursing facility.?? AND!!!!! For those that want to ***** that the
quality of treatment for those Patients, Residents or Consumers (
however you want to word it, myself I prefer PEOPLE ) is horrible. It's
Called STAFFING!!!! And without the funding that we need there is not
adequate staffing for the caseload we get on a day to day basis...
THINK! You cut costs, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabs, all these places
that we NEED are going to cut costs by dumping EMPLOYEES! And without
the staffing there is no way possible for the care to be up to Standard.
You want to piss and moan about inadequate care but you're going to make
it impossible to give that care thats required. What part of DUMB ASS do
you not understand!? Seriously.

Granted there are people out there that could possibly stay at home and
get some of the care they need by family members. But the majority of
them can't afford to not work to pay for their own families... Wouldn't
that be nice if we could still keep Mom at home with the kids and still
be able to pay bills and keep food on the table? In todays world though
thatis just not feasible for most families. So, what is everyone saying?
Let's cut medical costs and save money and those people that can't WALK,
or TALK, or Do any of the basic functions that WE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
every day fall through the cracks! Shall we say... oh Mrs. So and So, I
am so sorry that you fell and Broke your Hip. But you should have been
more careful. Because, dontcha know that you really can't get the
treatment that you need because it's not cost effective. These people
need to learn how to walk all over again! Again... THINK!

And cutting costs medically... Well that will effect our children, our
parents, our grandparents. Because I am not complaining about medical
advances, but with every advance there is a set back. You can still
technically keep a person ALIVE, meaning that their heart still beats
and their lungs and other organs work. But the body still gives out.
What then? Seriously! What then? You watch people slowly disintegrate
and waste away and there is not a damn thing ya can do about it but make
them as comfortable as possible. But hey! We need to cut corners
somewhere. So, well, how many people does it really take to turn someone
or give someone the AM or Pm care they need? Or God forbid... To sit
there and LISTEN to them or HOLD their hand ? Or just be there for them
in their last few minutes of life? Hey, Can't have that... We need to
SAVE MONEY!

Sorry, the whole thing is just incomprehensible to me! WE need our
medical care! We need properly staffed hospitals, nursing homes, police
stations and emergency teams! The govenment wants to start saving
money?! They are that serious? How about taking a pay cut! Because ya
know damn well, When its their mother, father, sister, brother or child
in the hospital or nursing facility they are going to DEMAND top notch
care for them that we will not be equipped to give them and then heads
are going to role and its THEIR fault to begin with.

RICH!... its a shame that the walter reed was in the shape its in and
took bad care of the men and women from over seas.

you know if there going to cut anything i think it should be medicade. i
mean comeon you have so many people useing medicade that dont even need
it. same with food stamps, if your hungry then by golly go get u a job.

I am a disabled mother with a multiple disabled child. I am using the
medicaid program for my childs needs or shall i say what LITTLE medicaid
provides brokenhomes. Its so easy to sit back and say "go get a job". I
hope and pray one day my child will be able to go and get a job. He is
severely autistic. Got any ideas on that bright comment? I say enforce
the illegals coming into this country arse raping our system.
