| Topic: Would the world be better off with Saddam alive in Iraq? | |

Ok the million dollar quistion after 5 years of war, a devalued dollar due to our defecit and debt gas prices through the roof, home heating costs up food prices, forclosers on homes, unemployment etc etc over 4000 dead americans and hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi, men women and children. Was the Iraq war worth it?

Well let's see, Saddam had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 so it would be the same as it was pre 9/11. Soooooo he was a pain in the butt but we liked him when it suited us so I guess it would be status quo.
The plus' to that scenerio outweigh the minuses. All the lives here and there would not have been lost. We would not be in a trillion dollar deficit climbing every day. The value of the dollar would not be in the toilet. We would not have to have suffered the crapola heard from the administration for all these years. Our reputation internationality would not be in the toilet. The economy would be better. That is all I can think of for now but there is more I am sure. |

I believe war is wrong, but I can see the reasons why we are at war. It's a pity Saddam couldn't be removed by other means, but I don't see that could happen. Obviously many innocent people have died. But hopefully a better life for the Iraqi people can be built. Let's be honest, they were hardly living in luxury to begin with.... So what your saying is that it is "legal" for us to invade a sovereign country on the "premise" that we want them to have a better life after we bomb them, kill them, and force democracy down their throats??? HUH????

If that is the case, if we are truly saviors, there is alot of work to be done because there are even more evil dictators out there doing horrible things right now in countries that are not in the middle east.
Pull the heads out here folks. We did not go to Iraq because we are saviors, we went there for the personal agenda of baby shrub. |

FACT saddam is dead FACT time machines dont exist FACT iraq is now even more vulnerable OPINION focus on the future and correct the past. OPINION Leave iraq 50 times better than it was before. we owe those people that. |

I believe war is wrong, but I can see the reasons why we are at war. It's a pity Saddam couldn't be removed by other means, but I don't see that could happen. Obviously many innocent people have died. But hopefully a better life for the Iraqi people can be built. Let's be honest, they were hardly living in luxury to begin with.... Iraq had one of the highest standards of living in the middle east before the US imposed its embargo and decimated the economic infrastructure...collapsing everything from schools to hospitals..of course your pet dog Saddam was doing fine since the US placed dictator never felt the sting of that embargo... And now since the US bombed Iraq back into the stone age, the only place they have to go from here is up... "many" innocent people died???? THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of innocent people died...including Americans.... |
