So...what kind of rituals...or acts...are we talkin? I celebrate all of the esbbats (moon phases) with ritual honoring the goddess Ceredwen, and with most of the Sabbats as well (i.e. Beltain, Samhain, etc) rituals generally consist of drawing the circle, calling of the ellemental corners and drawing down the Goddess, invoking the God or both. There can be other elements as well but those are some of the main components. (with a lot left out, didn't think you wanted to read a book ) I promise theres nobody boiling in a cauldron lol So other than the healing arts, do you have other passions? (music, art, reading... writing?) Music definitely To me getting lost in a song is very therapeutic, especially after a long day at the hospital or studying I have learned to appreciate art, but not create it The joy of reading for pleasure was replaced by the complexities of nursing school Writing I like...I was thinking about starting a book of my own poems So...how did your interests come about? mostly through escape... I'm proud to say that I grew up hard, it made me expand my mind and find ways to enjoy life with out the aid of money and material "things". |

What is your favorite rum jace? Just curious... I have about 4 different ones I love that I keep handy, but my favorite is Mt Gay (don't laugh) from Barbados. It's distilled unlike any other rum and is better pure than watered (or gosh forbid, coke'd) down. Currently I have open on the liquor shelf: Malibu Pineapple, George Estates Flotine (St Maarten), Appleton Estates (Jamaican), and J.Paul Prusser's Black Label (Puerto Rico). Here's my question to you: Would you rather drive back and forth to work in a convertible with a long drive, or in a regular car with a short drive? That sounds like a good collection I had some malibu tonight...I like it because I can't taste it in coke I don't like to taste my alcohol Hmmm...I would have to pick the regular car with a short drive Convertibles are a little fancy for me...im not 2 materialistic...if it has 4 wheels I am thankful I would prefer a shorter drive also so that I could spend more time with friends and family and not have to worry about leaving a couple hours or so ahead of time Sounds cheesy...but very true |

do you write your own stuff? (on the guitar) and if you do, what kind of music? Ha ha! Yeah, I have binders and notebooks and a few file cabinets filled with stuff I have written over the years. Most of it plays out to a simple rock or country riff. If I get creative (and the words are right), I can take it to a reggae beat. I love the blurred lines in music. Rock/country/blues/jazz. That's my home when I write.... Sweet! music is by far the greatest passion of my life, I've been in roughly 5 bands, (none of which made a name for themselves :P) except that the last band I was in got to the point of hooking up with a producer, then people got married and it fell apart |

Jace. You mention sarcasm in your post...I do, too. I have had many annoyed or turned-off by my sarcasm...even hurt unintentionally. Has that been your experience? Sarcasm is a double-edged sword. It certainly isn't for everybody. More to the point, the very idea of it being effective will often result in hurt feelings. I generally use my sarcasm to make a point. Demonstrating absurdity by being absurd. I keep it in check when I need to. I'm rarely sarcastic at funerals. I'm often sarcastic at work meetings because Corporate wants us to do "team training". Those that can keep up, do. Those that can't, well... we already know what happens to them. (= ---------------------------------------------------------------- When buying sunglasses, do you go by brand name, or do you instead think, "Hmm... lunch sounds good right now."? |

To Kimmie - what is it about geriatrics that makes you sad? I am in healthcare, too...it is kids and young people being ill that bothers me most. Good thing that everyone in the field seems to have a group of people they work best with and that we are not all the same, huh? I admire those who work well with kids...I just don't do it well. Definitely...we all have something that calls to us The thing about geriatrics for me...was putting myself in their position, which I try to do A lot of the vets were homeless, completely dependent on the nursing staff, and had no/little visitors It was hard for me to change diapers...not because it grossed me out, but because I felt like they were trapped Confined to a hospital In my opinion...in my shoes...that isn't a life I would want to lead |

Please dont freaking tell me thats your favorite drink I won't freaking tell you that, then. (= (Actually, I love my rum straight most of the time... I'll mix it when the mood strikes me, usually out with people, etc. Coke/Diet Coke up north, Dr Pepper when I'm in Florida. Don't laugh, it tastes amazing with the right kind of rum!) |

The Japanese culture as a whole both fascinates and intimidates me... not to mention most of the other Asian cultures as well. (Chinese, Korean, etc) Just to think of how old their cultures are, especially compared to ours... very complex cultures to try and take in. |
