Well communism looks great........on paper.
In real life it kind of sucks. If we we're all bees instead of people, we'd love it. |

Socialism is alive and well Bill.

The cost to hire the proletariat approaches the lowest cost of providing
his basic subsistence. Yep that sounds like here. Don't we have two people working to support one family now? |

Communism has been alive and well in many, many countries for as long as
it has been around. France is loaded with communist party players and so on and so on. I do not believe the United States is loaded with communists but I would guess you could not swing a dead cat at any party in Hollywood without hitting a few... .02 |

Ok so well communism and socialism are close and related when you look
at the basic premise of each. Socialism is easier to tolerate because the word communism also implies a godless society where everyone gets equal shares of the total available wealth or poverty as it may be. Socialism though suggests some sort of benevolent sharing of goods to keep impoverished groups and individuals from starving and needlessly suffering. Democrats and Republicans alike have some features of socialism in their agenda, and they include them in their talking points. Nobody has the bravery to promote communism though. On a historical note, you can look back to the time of the Roman Empire and see that even so far back there was a basic understanding that you had to be sure there was enough food for the people and that the people were able to get the food they needed. If this was not insured people revolted. They have done it all through history and a wise government takes steps to be sure there is enough to go around. Consider the French revolution as an example. The starving people through out both the government with their nobles and the church. |

The poor fight our wars because, in a pay-incentive army, only the
impoverished and few well-indoctrinated-patriots will put their lives on the line to accomplish the goals of the nation. You can be poor and still be for the rich. Our history of puritanism associates wealth with morality. You and i know this isn't true, as per the teachings of Christ, but it's a cultural tradition that makes sense to me. I'm against killing people, I take a balance of how many dead on one hand and how many dead on the other and vote for the fewest dead people. |

well when i tell you i think it that way everywhere. we say rich men
start wars poor men die |
|
|

did you know that you could buy your way out of the draft during the
civil war? I'm glad we've advanced past the idea of simply letting rich people buy their way out of their patriotic duty. Maybe 2 years of mandatory service, to the government, say from the ages of 19 to 21, would give us all a little better perspective on what and how we use our resources in government. |

^Very true^
You're probably much more well versed on our history than most people are. Most people ask "what's the most important thing to me, who's going to make sure that's taken care of", no thought to the wider-applications or complications caused by that. |

yes i would not try to talk if i did not no a little about government.
