if one day to god is as a thousand years to man.......
would not equal unit of measure need to be first achieved to work with this ratio...... so one day to god would need to be 1000 years x 365 days, creating equal units of days to days...... if this be found, then does anyone have the ability with this eqausion to convert time down to days, hours, and then minutes? the end result being sought is how long is one hour to god compared to man....... |

Premise: 1 God day = 1000 earth years
Question: How long is one hour to god compared to man....... Well if 1 God Day is 1000 earth years for God, then 1000 earth years will pass in one God day. There are 24 hours in a day, and 365 days in a year. So that 24 X 365 = 8760 hours in a earth year. So multiply that by 1000 years and that come out to be 8760000 hours in 1000 earth years. Now if God's day is equal to 1000 earth years. Than an hour to man, would be 1/8760000th of God's day. Let's assume that God's Day also has 24 God Hours in it. We can take that down to seconds. There would be 60 seconds in every minute, and 60 minutes in ever hour. So that 3600 seconds in an hour. 3600 seconds per hour times 24 hours = 86400 seconds per day (whether God's day or man's day) So, since an hour to man would 1/8760000th of God's day all we need to do is divide 86400 by 8760000 and we'll have the answer. I just did that on a calculator. Rounding off for convenience it comes out to about one one-hundredth of a second. So in other words, an hour to man is about 1/100 of a second to God. Assuming the premise is true. Personally I think that was just a metaphor meaning that time has no meaning to God. But it was a fun calculation anyway. |

Here's another thought based on that same idea David. If 1 God day = 1000 earth years, then for God, the time between your birth and death is just a matter of minutes to God. In fact, let's assume that you live to be 100. That's 100 years. That would only be 1/10 of God's day. In other words, if God created you on the day you were born, then 2 hours and 24 minutes later he'd be welcoming you back into the spirit world. Assuming that you had lived to be 100 years old on earth. If you only lived to be 50 it would be bringing you back home in half that time, 1 hour and 12 minutes his time. In other words, if it holds that 1000 years on earth is like a day to God, then God is giving birth to entire generations of spirits, and 'harvesting' them back into the spiritual world in just minutes. In fact, only two days have gone by for God since Jesus died according to that ratio. Sh't happens pretty quick for God. |

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. This verse is frequently misquoted, so I thought I would offer it up along with my interpretation. First, this verse is not saying that day a is like a thousand years TO the Lord, it is saying WITH the Lord. Following the oft misquote middle of the verse is the end of the verse, which offers the exact opposite of the middle part. Peter is using a simile to explain that any period of time has no real meaning to God, but that God will keep his promises, even when we feel they should have been fulfilled before. Peter is calling on his followers to be patient as they wait for the second coming of Jesus. |

Peter is calling on his followers to be patient as they wait for the second coming of Jesus.
Well clearly they weren't patient enough because they're all dead now. It's been 2000 yeas and still no Jesus. I don't think patience makes much sense in a human context in this picture. If a thousand years is like a day for God then it's only been two days for Jesus since his ascension into heaven. What if his dad does the 6-day thing again and he doesn't come back until his next Sabbath. The means we'd have at least 4 more God days to wait. That'd be 4000 years in our time. So maybe people should be looking for him to come back around the year 6000. In the meantime what's to be patient about? We'll be long dead before that ever happens. I think the reason that Peter has to calm his followers is because everyone back then thought Jesus was coming back before the current generation was over, just like he said he would. He actually told his disciple that he would come back for them. Not for people 2000 years into the future. Clearly they thought he was coming back in their lifetime. |

Yes...the operative word being "IF" !!! Exactly - IF there was a god. Well not only that, but even if he was real he didn't keep his promise to the people he made it to. He didn't promise us he'd come back. He never promised us anything. He made all of those promises to the people he was actually speaking to. Cleary he didn't keep the promises that he made to THEM. Yet modern day people somehow think he's going to keep those promises to them? This is nothing short of ludicous. I thought only politicians were allowed to make promises they don't keep? |

Just curious, if the higher you are the faster time travels, does that meen, that people how live in the mountains spend less time in gods eyes.
