Like a spider in her web, I've been waiting for you.
My hope's surely at an ebb. I'm stuck in time, it's true.
All these heart strings that hold me, make me relive my past.
Step lightly on the moments. The years go by so fast.

How can I believe there's someone for me, here or there,
When all I've known is a distant man, who didn't care?
I blame me for loving blindly and for hanging in,
Until I was so entangled that I couldn't win.

So, I sit here waiting and listening... to faint hope.
Give me something to dream on but not a hanging rope.
I can love a second time and want to do this well.
Being alone forever sounds like a living hell.

Might be a song, albeit a sad one.
