Topic: Age... | |

That is just the natural order of things...there will be issues you will enter into that you don't have first hand experiences at...however that does not mean that those older or wiser will have the same experience you will once you've been there too. I respect younger opinions...but have trouble when a 20 year old tries to tell me about how it is in a 9 year relationship...they can not know much about some issues...they can only project their ideals into it. And there is nothing wrong with that...but this does not put them in a position to educate those who have been in one. Well the question isn't based of a relationship type conversation, more of a historical perspective. I understand where your coming from, and would leave that for the experienced. I'm just saying that if what I have learned about a certain past or present subject is null and voided because I wasn't alive at the time the event occured? And with that same outlook does that mean we all in fact know absolutely nothing about the Civil War, WWI, 1776, etc. That was the basis of the question, but thank you for your input on a different subject matter. All anyone who was not there can do is form opinions based on educational standpoints...they only want you to hear their views as well. I like hearing the stories from people who have lived through historical moments. Sometimes they don't understand that not everyone who was there even shares the same views on it either. They can be quite stubborn about it. You do know that you are a whippersnapper though...right? |

Aging is like reading a book of life.
First, everyone has to be able to learn how to read (one's youth). Once you know how to read, the further you read into the book of life, the more you learn. Not everyone has the same comprehension capability and some people have to re-read the same chapters, over and over before they get it. Some people make it to the end of the book and others put it down and close it prematurely. Most people are on the different pages in their life while some are on the same page. That's life! What can I say! |

To be honest, I base my opinion of one's intelligence by the way they speak of what they know. Just because you are younger than I does not make me smarter, Just that I have experienced more situations on which I base my knowledge. |
