Topic: Church Gossip... (a joke) | |
---|---|
Mildred, the church gossip and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several members did not approve of her style, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his pickup parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She self-righteously told George and several others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing. Being a man of few words, George stared at her for a moment, then simply turned and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing. Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in Mildred's driveway . . . walked home . . . and left it there all night. Don't ya just love ol' George? |

And whats the problem with drinking? Yeh, I ask you, is there a commandment that states: Thou shalt not drink alcohol. Well? Where did the Church decide that was a sin? JB |

And whats the problem with drinking? Besides, maybe he was just there to fix the satelite TV dish so the partrons could watch the game. Or maybe he wasn't drinking at all but simply screwing the bar maid in the back room? Accusing him of being an acoholic was totally out of line. |

While living in a small central valley town reminiscent of what is like saying it is California's Bible Belt, I was given the heads up about the rumors that fly in this town of 2300 people. There are 31 churches in this small town too. It seems that the pastor of the church I attended while living there was rumored to have a drinking problem. His truck was seen often enough at the bar in town. True, his truck was seen there quite often. He had sold it . What makes me laugh, is that no one called the police to say that some nefarious looking sot had stolen the pastor's truck. |

Mildred met Judy at a social gathering. Are those REAL pearl earings, Judy, Mildred asked. Sure they are, Judy said. You can tell that if you bite on them, but you need REAL teeth to do it!

Very funny joke and that is a good idea on how to get a little revenge. It dosent hurt any body and it keeps the persons mouth shut.I would have to say its good practice of dont drink and drive too. Too funny... but I think it's sad when people don't have enough to interest them about their own life and so have to poke their nose into other peoples business... |
