I already wear hearing aides.. and have been told by specialists I will be deaf one day... so I'm gonna go with deaf... I'd rather be able to see all that is to come

I think I'd rather be deaf. I want to see my daughter get married, I want to see her children. |

Your better than me I refuse to wear mine because I think I'm in denial about how bad my hearing is.

Well being a person that wears glasses/contacts... I have to say that not seeing clearly sucks... let alone being blind. My dreams consist of traveling and seeing the Great Pyramids, Stonehedge, etc... I would lose out on that if I were blind. I think it's so much easier to adapt if you are deaf (not originally) like reading lips and becoming observative for anything from facial expressions to body language. If you go blind, yes you can still hear but there is so much of the world you will miss because hearing is not the sense it requires to admire it.

I needed my hearing aides over 20 yrs ago.. didn't get them til about 4-5 yrs ago.. made my way thru life by reading lips and other creative ways. I am soooooooooooooooooo enjoying hearing while I still can... finding out that one can hear the rain.. hearing my children's giggles... music!... but if hard pressed to choose.. I'd rather give up sound than sight. |
