Indeed. He will be hurt. You can't get around that, but if you respect him...you'll be honest.

its better to go ahead and cut the ties, if you lead him on its just gonna get worse as time goes on. if you are a considerate person, go ahead and do what needs to be done now, before the feelings being hurt and way too much to deal with

![]() that's hard. but if i were you i'd tell him that it is not likely to change anytime soon and that you should not talk or see each other for a while. that would be the kindest thing to do imho. a good long while. ![]() all the best ![]() ![]() |

There really isn't any way to sugar coat it. It is what it is.
I would be honest. Because if you aren't, you're doing yourself and him a great injustice. You aren't happy being with this guy because it takes you off the market and you are not interested in taking the relationship in the direction he is wanting to go. You obviously care about him or you wouldn't have given the situation the time of day. I would tell him that you care for him as a friend and you do not want to hurt him by leading him on. Ask him if he is willing to be just friends. If not, then simply move on. But you cannot stay in a situation that makes you unhappy. JMO.. ![]() |

It's letting them down, but at the same time. Hoping they will understand and will talk things through. |
