Does anyone meet the old fashioned way anymore? Like...pure chance encounters? Bumping into a stranger in the grocery store and your souls just connect??? Are we all online or is anyone out in the "real" world finding love????????? |

I live in a small town so "real" world meeting isn't exactly prudent. The single guys I know here in town I wouldn't date anyway. They all have one issue or another I wouldn't want in my or my son's lives. Therefore meeting someone online seems to be the most reasonable thing to do for me.

Is that really old fashioned, or is it Hollywood? Do you know anyone who has ever met someone that way outside of a movie set?
A lot of people I know claim to have met someone that way. Makes me wonder if I am shopping the wrong store. lol |

I got that advice once but it required determining which grocery store all the pretty women used and what time they were most likely to be there.
Now if you know where I can obtain a copy of that schedule I'd be eternally grateful. |

The reason grocery stores have the reptutation of being a good place to meet someone is simple.
You see, when you go into a grocery store, all you have to do is use your eyes to see who is single. None of those close looks to ring fingers, it's right there in the basket. If a person, doesn't matter the sex, is shopping (in the evening, don't want to do this at lunch) and is using a little hand held basket to by a few items, odds are, single. If they have the cart, but don't appear to be filling it, single. You can use this to your advantage. What are they getting? If it's ingredient heavy, but few frozen dinners, ask what they are planning on making. There is you opener. No cheesy lines, no buying drinks, just some conversation. If it's loaded with tv dinners and frozen pizza (ladies you have a better chance of seeing this), you have a great opportunity to just ask someone out. "You look like you could use a home cooked meal." She might not say yes, but you can give her your number, and I'd bet she'll call. Women, guys will always say yes to food. The grocery store is not just a movie thing, it can work. But you got to do a lot of shopping to get some dates. It's never worked for me, but I'm a horrible flirt. |
