Has anyone else here had this?
Last year I fell and caught myself with the palm of my hand on a concrete floor. I thought immediantly I had broken my arm. But, I didn't go to the dr. I could move the arm so I figured it wasn't broke. It soon became alright but one morning I woke in horror to find I could barely move my left arm over a 45 degree angle and this only with the most sever form of pain I have ever endured. This lasted for months. The bone specialist and physical therapist all said I needed surgery...a 3 part surgery consisting of , repairing a torn rotator cuff, grinding off calcium deposits and forcible manipulation of the joint. They said this would cause sever pain and I would have to go back Immediantly into physical therapy still with no guarantee of full movement returing. Well, I opted instead to do my OWN physical therapy at home (VA would only pay for two 6 week sessions of PT). NOw, I have about a 98% movement back in my joint and NO pain! Every now and again if I turn my arm a certain way I get a tinge of pain and it concern me...but, so far so good. I am PROUD I have come this far without surgery. |

I've not heard of that. Cold shoulder - but that's something different
Good for you for taking it upon yourself! Sad how quick the doctors are to put us under the knife. Glad you healed well! |

This went on for months...had to sleep with my arm propped on a pillow and during the night if my arm slide off, I would wake and scream in agony. I sure don't want it to come back Glad yours has come back too...it is really a nusiance not to be able to rotate you shoulder...imposssible to use a drive up bank window or fast food drive through...hard to dress...remove clothing over your head..hard to even brush back of hair. |

I haven't had this problem but when I worked in a pharmacy a few of my customers had the surgery you mentioned ..... they practically cut your arm off at the shoulder and put you back together . It's insane and if I were you I would just stopping using my arm before I let them do that . I'm glad your better though ....
