Yeah and I think there is some emotional issues going on.............but I also think it gets her the attention she lacks...............since she has two younger brothers.........im not sure but its pretty gross though...............and dang unhealthy (hygenitically) speaking............. |

Is that wrong? why dont you try him on the toilet?? theres little tiny seats you put on the toilet so they can sit on it |

Is that wrong? I don't think leaving a child that long on a potty is a good idea. It makes them view pottying as punishment. Just watch for clues when he / she has to go...then take them to potty. Give them a few minutes, but not too long. If he doesn't go..try again later. When he finally goes...a lot of affirmation. |

My older daughter had a very hard time becoming potty trained. She had bed-wetting accidents and messed her pants until she was about 8 yrs old. She was diagnosed with ADD, depression and finally bi-polar, so that may have had something to do with it. It finally stopped when she talked to a psychiatrist that she liked.
My younger one was a different story all together.....she was almost two and I showed her a pair of "big girl" pants with a Disney princess on them and asked her if she wanted to wear them. She said yes and only had about three accidents, and those were when she was sick. |

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!
You will be shocked that the answer may be so simple, but this has worked with EVERY child I have had that wet the bed (I've been a foster parent to over 400 kids and one kid wet the bed EVERY day and was 14 years old!!). The urine tube (urethra) is a fairly small tube and at some juncture, according to my Chiropractor), it is threaded through a very narrow space, that...IF not lined up properly, puts just enough pressure on the sides of the tube and deadens the sensation or urge that most of us feel to pee. Not so much that during the day there is a problem, but during the night, it may be muted enough that the person wouldn't wake up and go potty. Find a chiropractor that uses an adjustor and the foot leveling technique. This is VERY IMPORTANT! A back cracker chiropractor can OVER CORRECT and you will still be in the same boat. I have also used this type of chiropractor ONLY.......for kids with earaches (the Eustachion(sp) tubes are pinched and can't drain properly) and Sinus problems....if they have yellow or green snot....signs of sinus infection....again, sinus's not draining properly. He described it like this......we all have a toilet in our home and it doesn't matter what we put in it as long as we can flush it. The problem starts when we can't flush it and then you have a stinky, nauseous mess. Same for all these 'cavities' that have to drain.....sinus's, middle ear, etc. 'Regular' doctors will just slap the kid on anti-biotics and we know the problems that can cause! Use the anti-biotics if you must, but get to the chiropractor, too, and your child will heal MUCH faster and stay well longer!! Make sure it is the right kind of Chiropractor. I have taken tiny babies with 'colic'. The Dr. said during the birthing process, sometimes the babies neck gets twisted and wracked out of shape, causing a subluxation. In 'olden' times when doctors used forceps for delivery, EVERY baby got colic from 3 to 6 months of age. What eventually happens is that the baby gets a migraine headache. Every day at the same time. Just ask people that get migraines if there is a pattern. Researchers have been able to do tests to confirm this. Good luck!! |

That is very informative, I would never have thought about stuff like that. But if the problem is emotional and not physical, then it will not have any effect. My daughter's problem, same as some of the others posting on here, was an emotional cause. I had taken her for all kinds of testing and there was no problems with pinching of her tubes. Once she got help from a psychiatrist she actually sat down and spoke with, the problem stopped. |

My sister wet the bed at 7 years of age. I remember my parents called in someone who discussed the problem with her and my parents. Its rare someone like a doctor would ever visit a home here in the US so I don't know how that person was. He wanted to know everything about the situation so that is why he was there.

my daughter stop when she was about 4-5yrs old and my son. (you know i dont remember how old he was) my grandkids are still having some problems but i think it has to do with emotional of not having there dad there. im not sure. my grandson is 10 and my grandaughter is 8 and the baby well she still young she 2yrs old my neice is 7, and shes still wetting the bed, she stopped with me last night and she wet the bed, shes been doing this since she was out of nappys and its getting worse, most nights now Debbie, My child did the same thing. We used "big kid" pull-ups. I took my child to the urologist. The doctor said it is normal with some kids. He said that bladders mature at different rates and that my child was a very sound sleeper. No sodas is a good idea. Also, no drinks in the evening is good too. I also had a waterproof mattress pad. The doctor gave me a prescription for a pad that sounds an alram when it gets wet so the child wakes up. It's supposed to train the child. But...I didn't have to use it. I do believe that it is important to rule out any physical problems with a urologist visit. A neighbor boy had the same problem. But..he was finally diagnosed with reflex of the bladder. He had it bad enough to require surgery. My child had it too and had to be on preventative antibiotics for a year. |

Also, it is important to not make them feel uncomfortable about it. Let her know that it is okay. They are already ashamed and embarrassed and know that they are different. My child was so embarrassed that my child wouldn't go on sleepovers for years. It broke my heart.
