At 55 I quit my job & have spent the last 2yrs+ starting over. Things are tough but it is starting to come together. Find what you want & go for it. Be your own boss. It is tough getting started, but hunger keeps you going.
Never let them see you worry or cry, it will be used against you. |

Thats long enough to get yourself on unemployment insurance. That office will also help with building your resume and your job search. You'll find something.

well. i dont even know where to post this i am so lost today.. i am officaly jobless.. out of nowhere... i have 4 kids to raise. and find myself without a job.. the job that i was at until about an hour ago, was a 45 to 50 hour a week job. i have no idea what to do with myself.. i have no idea what to do. no idea where to start.... so lost... Although easier said than done, don't panic. Take some time to take a step back. Network with others to find a new job. Try and think what you would really like to do for an occupation. Update your resume. Evaluate any assets that you may. Cut costs in certain areas. Rely on family and friends. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Best wishes to you. I've been there beforehand. |

sorry to hear mskim but my first inclination would be to try and get employed by the opposition. this sounds kinda fun aucutualy... trust me after 5 yrs of continued employment I am sure the opposition would value an experienced employee. I would go immediately, that way when and if HR is contacted the information has not been entered in system yet (of your being released) gotta play the system sometimes |

Chin up lass, good things happen to good people...and you are a great person, look into a job service type of deal to see if they can help you find a job. Unemployment as well would be helpful. |
