Topic: Someone like you or an opposite? | |
---|---|
Which would you prefer to date? Someone that is just like you, or someone who has some things in common with you, but for the most part, is completely opposite of you? Which is better (In your own opinion) relationship wise?

Definitly would go for oposite. I think it would become to boring to date somone similar.

Opposite, I like a little friction but not enough to be annoying. It's great when you've got lots in common but if your demeanor and personality are exactly the same you get bored fast.

Someone like me. I want to have common interest's. I find over time, the difference's lead to one person getting to decide what the couple is going to do over the other. It ended up that we allway's did what he wanted to. Over time, I had no clue anymore what I wanted.

o my i dont have to pick one of those choices!!
complete opposite or just like me... a) there is nobody just like me. b)i would like to meet my polar opposite...wonder what he would be like.. c)i probably wouldnt like him |

same because i done the other its just dont work for me.

someone with similar interests, but opposite from me... as the old saying goes: opposites attract

I'd choose someone like me. Communication is critical in any relationship. Opposites will not communicate very well with one another because they will have opposite ways of doing it. Relationships with opposites, though interesting at the start, are doomed from the get go.

thought about it...i think i have dated a few opposites..it didnt work....Im still single

I have never dated someone who is "exactly" like me. We shared some things in common, but we were (in fact) opposites. Married for 9 years to an opposite, and that ended in divorced.
Now I am dating a woman who is very opposite from me, and I find that I really like that. We do like some of the same things, but she and I grew up different, have different opinions, and we make it work. So yeah....Goof loves opposites. Oh, and I would be scared to date someone like me. |

someone who has some common interests with me, but someone who i can also learn new things from.

Opposite in some things, but like-minded in other's...that way I can still learn but she won't be completly aghast over my antics.

I like to have base belief systems in common...family, moral, religion, politics. Issues that arise in these areas become too passionate and can too easily become hard roadblocks to hurdle. I see couples lose respect for one another over these things. All other differences just add variety to a relationship.
