While it may be as annoying as all hell, take it with a grain of salt, a splash of lime on an ice cold Corona.

it's gotten to the point that if you say you like ice cream someone will find a way to flame it. I think there is a handful of people on here that just cruise the forums looking for a way to;

Be negative
Be sarcastic (I'm guilty, but I don't go out of my way it just comes natural)
Be mean
Be evil
Try to show off intelligence (it usually ends up being artificial intelligence)

And most of the time it's simply to get noticed. What they don't realize is that being;

Polite
Nice
Use manners
Be constructive
Fun
Funny
etc.

Will get the same attention but in a positive way.

I hear ya Fran. It's not that anyone says things bad about me .. cuz I do not let that bother me.

It's that people misconstrue what I say and then make a BIGGER deal about that. *sigh* Or it hurts their feelings. I'm a nice person. I don't try to offend anyone and I'm pretty happy all the time too. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

Well I think that's a lot of the problem. When we are sarcastic it's not at someone else, just in general.

Life should be funny. Nothing wrong with putting a spin on something someone says or does .. it keeps it interesting. IMHO

I honestly think intelligence on forums is scary to a lot of people. And pushing the envelope is upsetting to them as well.

I guess.

I see no real pattern to the negativity out here. Sometimes it is as simple as bitter nasty people who have nothing better to do with their lives than spew their venom out onto the threads.

Other times it can be a thoughtless or flippant comment by someone looking for a cheap laugh. This is a negative when it is done at the expense of another.

Still other times it is ignoring people who appear to be reaching out and looking for help.

Unfortunately, I do not see how this can change unless we can change the nature of people.

things have really changed in the almost 2 years I have been on here!! dont get me wrong there are some fine people here and sometimes the newbies take the brunt of the critisizm, but I agree with Fade, people need to lighten up and have fun, if I want drama, I would remarry my ex!!!

Wow - I cant believe I am actually going to say this- most people only care about how it might effect themselves. I feel you may be better served to nuture yourself- although I understand the human need to connect to someone.

I couldnt agree more!!!! I enjoy making people laugh and try to compliment the ladies when I can,there is too much crap in life the way it is, many of us use this as an opiate to escape our everyday hassles, there is NO need to be nasty to folks, most of us are to here to have a good time, at least I am!!!

You are in excellent company,Cleopatra etc. Strong women have and will always carry an intimidating factor to both sexes. There are those who could embrace the idea of a woman's strength, yet, there are those who (through lack of understanding ) find it hard to comprehend and could not be bothered to either nor will they budge from their pre-conceived ideas that a strong woman is a threat ( to whom?)

Your not just a nice person missy.....your an incredible human being.....And I know exactly what your trying to get across....to some twinkleheads.....But I honestly can say that I have seen things written and say to myself, "Self they are so not going to get that." But thats only because I know you sooooooo well.....And I think the sadest thing is that people always judge first impressions without getting to know.....and trying to get the depth of that human being.....And I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart......in the case of Judy.....THEIR LOSS
