Update on Joe Arpaio

TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO.

HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF
AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER.

THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY: TENT CITY JAIL.

He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights Cut off all but "G" movies.

He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.

Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued
for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails.

So he hooked up the cable TV again and only let in the Disney channel and the weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel he replied, "So they will know hot it's gonna be while they are working n my chain gangs".

He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value.

When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the
Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back."

He bought Newt Gingrich's lecture series on videotape that he pipes into the jails.

More On The Arizona Sheriff:

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix - 116 degrees, the Associated Press Reports:

About 2,000 Inmates Living In A Barbed-Wire-Surrounded Tent Encampment At The Maricopa County Jail Have Been Given Permission To Strip Down To Their Government-Issued Pink Boxer
Shorts.

On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached
138 Degrees inside the week before.

Many Were Also Swathed In Wet, Pink Towels As Sweat Collected On Their Chests And Dripped Down To Their PINK SOCKS.

"It Feels Like We Are In A Furnace," said James Zanzot, an inmate who has lived in the tents for 1 year. "It's inhumane."

Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic.

He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates: "It's 120 Degrees In Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents, too.
And they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"

Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders.

Btw, I didn't write this.

All he really does is enforce the laws, ALREADY on the books; as they are stated. No bleeding heart involved. Yes, let's run him for President.
Bet he wouldn't take the job, to much B.S.

Let's push for the same kind of treatment across the US .. this is EXCELLENT. If jails were consistently run like this .. criminals would think TWICE before they broke the law.

LOVE THIS GUY!!!

Since I have had the "pleasure" of working for years trying to get basic necessities for the real victims of crime, rarely the prisoners, I am pleased as punch to hear that he and his policies have not somehow been revoked. As we approach triple digit temperatures and seniors and children live in what are basicly neighborhoods that have been turned into barred slums where they sleep in fear of home invasions and have little or no hope of ever affording cable TV. medical care, or even three meals a day, much less AC, government provided clothes, and legal representation and adequate "protections". I have little sympathy that they have finally been caught and gotten what they deserve which is little more than subsistence. Especially when most of them had at one point middle-class lives with at least one parent, grandparents, and children that depended on them to make something of themselves but have been dragged down to poverty level with their fines, lawyers fees, and chronic disruption of normal family life with their misery of choice like drugs and alcohol. I am tired of crybaby excuses that say they came from a broken home or or didn't know; hog wash; they know the lyrics to the latest MTV they made choices what they wanted to know and wanted to do with their lives and I would rather spend my time and money helping to educate and house and recreate the ones who lived within societies rules than these mavericks that Joe has called what they are.

Can Britain borrow him? I think this guy would put a stop to the "soft" options prisoners have in UK prisons, colour tv, a fully functional gym,a choice of meal e.g a menu catering for vegetarians, vegans, halal and kosher meals. Toilets built especially for Muslim men and to crown it all they get paid for stitching the mail bags for the post office. Prisons are so cushy in the UK that prisoners who are eligible for parole do not apply for it, and the latest scandal saw ex prisoners breaking into prisons because drugs was cheaper to buy inside the prison than it is on the streets !!!
