Not to worry.
It wont happen! They are not even a 1st world country! They have a large military but their technology can hardly compare to ours. I dont see them being able to do much more than manage to maintain a deterrent force! |

Nothing wrong with the idea of communism. Possible the gretest economic system devised, until a dictatorship like castro and stalin emerged.

China is indeed a super power.
American influence (Globally) is waning. We will only be a super power for MAYBE 5 years...but I doubt it. In a very short time, we will be simply another industrialized nation. |

I dont see them being able to do much more than manage to maintain a deterrent force! I dunno Fanta, I've seen pics of their air force and it was scary. Front line fighters made in Taiwan as far as the eye could see. Don't forget, China has managed to merge communism with capitalism to some degree. Oh what the hell am I talking about? They don't need to defeat us militarily. They'll just keep selling us their tainted and poisoned products to weaken us before the take over |

I dont see them being able to do much more than manage to maintain a deterrent force! Got to disagree here, Im afraid. They have the world's largest land army. If they wanted to, they could colonise the majority of S.E. Asia. The US is not in a position to defend that much of a land mass. We are all fortunate that they are in the process of making money. They own a huge percentage of the West's industry (or have large stakeholdings in it) While they are still very xenophobic and concentrate on their own problems we are all safe. Once they sort their internal squabbles and realise they need oil too, then there will be an expansion. Classic example, the Kyril Islands. Very rich in oil, very close to China, Russia (who hold them) and Japan. It only takes a posturing admiral to decide to "stray" into foreign waters .. you know how it works ... |

Not to worry. It wont happen! They are not even a 1st world country! They have a large military but their technology can hardly compare to ours. I dont see them being able to do much more than manage to maintain a deterrent force! Fanta...... I agree with you. In order for China to be a superpower, China would have to be a global force that can influence geopolitical and military events in every corner of the globe. China cannot do this. However, American should not take the Chinese lightly since their goal is domination over the USA. I also concur with the poster who said that in order for China to become a "super power," China must embrace democracy. That means that the people of China must be able to elect governments of their choice. Also, China must withdraw its forces from the territories of other countries it presently occupies, eg. Tibet and parts of India. Additionally, for China to be a "super power," along with accepting democracy it must abolish forced labour, as well as respect human rights. Fanta is right in that China is not a First World Country. The above problems, along with China's poverty margins, keep China in the category of a Third World Country. Another area that prevents China from becoming a "super power" is that it is so far behind in science and technology when compared with other nations of the world. My opinion is that China will never be anything more than a regional power. Let me correct that statement --- China will never be anything more than a regional bully. |

does that mean that the world will be run by communists? what does this mean for democratic countries, usa being one of them? will the states be ready to dance to the music of the communists drums? It's going that way anyway... Our country is like the frog that when thrown into a pot of cold water with a flame under it, will sit there not knowing it's being boiled to death. As you can see from some of the posters here, they dumbed down enough young people to make it happen. No matter... God is on the move. The govts. of this world are going to find out real soon what little power they really have. |
