it is not a virtue to honestly tell someone that their cooking sucks, or that you think they're ugly, or unhealthily skinny or overweight or mentally slow or too cerebral.
these are all traits which change sometimes quickly and sometimes slowly but they change over time. if your honesty amounts to pointing out flaws - or even if something you say honestly harms others then it is not at all a good thing. what to say when and how to say it is actually a very complex issue. i always recommend the book: Words That Hurt, Words That Heal: How to Choose Words Wisely and Well by Joseph Telushkin reading this book will likely change the way you think and speak... |

Everyone has flaws. Therefore anyone can always say something negative in perfect truth about anyone else. Is this honestly the right thing to do even if what you say is absolutely true?

I have to HONESTLY say I think most of those who claim to be so HONEST are not. agree....though i've learned to monitor my Honesty with discretion(hope that's the word)....sometimes its better not to tell all that is in our minds or we might hurt someone's feelings.... |
