Questions glaring
Answers hollow Smug statements on a thread A sly remark Ignorance shared It’s true god is not dead He lives inside The thoughtless minds And those who list as sheep So confident So full of “faith” And logic goes to sleep They spread their word And blindly read Their book of fairy tales They choose to let Their lives be slaves To snakes, giants, and whales Insulted by Contrasting thought Refusal to reason Freedom, good sense, Intelligence Seem the highest treasons |

The Wicked Impious Judges Freedom, good sense, Intelligence Seem the highest treasons No reasons ever given why blindness should be good To follow ancient wisdom that's been proven to be wrong Is to demonstrate quite clearly that we've failed to sing our song Quenching decent spirits in the name of evil dogma Has become the vengeful nature of a religious human saga No spirits are permitted to love with natural hearts For everyone's committed to dodge impious darts Preachers preaching blaspheme Churches hoarding God And all the people blinded by the trifling façade Passing judgment on their neighbors they use a book to back their words They claim that it's the word of God and He's the Shepard of the herds They sing from pious hymnals librettos set in rhyme In only reinforces their immoral wicked crime If only they could see beyond the evil of their book The world could flow with harmony like the water in a brook Yet they never seem to realize that they're causing so much strife By passing sinful judgments on those who cherish life Abra (6/27/08) I hope it was ok to take off from a few lines of your poem |

By the way, I really like your poem. I guess I didn't actually say so.
I wouldn't have been inspired to take off from it had I not already enjoyed it. Great piece! |

The Course
And when in the course Of human intent, I will say mine. This heart is drenched. The hollow answers That could be filling, Are but a thread Of a pride unyielding. All of that Which should be savored, Is thrown away By angry labors. Admit, I do. There is my guilt. Intense debate, I often wilt. Each we own, The right is ours. Correct in only, A sorrowed scar. Truth is absolute, agreed. Love will blind, As hatred breeds. Raine Les 6/27/2008 Your conviction is a message to hear. Thank you. I love" Hollow words. Speaks volumes. |
