i said CLOSE to accurate... im goin with around $200 a month.. and one way or another..
if ya read the rest of the post... its her life!!! her $$$$$$ she earned it.. and shes not hurting ANYONE!!!! i say again.. prospective!!!!!!  Ok........so how much does she play the tickets??? Are you worried that she is spending your inheritance money on what you call frivolous items??? 
She plays daily like I said, twice a day most days since they hold two separate drawings. times 30 days.. thats $120 a month.. i used to spend more than that on 
and when i used to go out.. id spend that in one nite 
its her life... her money.. let her do what she wants with it!!! if this is her fun.. lte her do it!!
Thing is, I know the gambling is a way for her to escape the real problems she has, to not deal with them. I'm not gonna go into specifics so don't ask, but I feel it's a sign of underlying issues and she uses the gambling as a crutch. you didnt disagree with my math so im assuming that it was close to accurate.. It's not actually, lot more then just a simple $2. |

Ok, here...Your mother is keeping a roof over your head, if she decides she wants to try her luck on the lotto what gives you the right to have a say so. I find you to be a very respectful person, I do...and I don't say that about many on here, others can vouch for that. But really mate; you need to man up and decide what YOU want aside from what is the best MAJORITY intrest. You are what keeps the ball rolling not your mother.

My mom just doesn't get it, she constantly plays the lottery, never even caring how much a scam it is. It sucks your wallet dry with a win once in a blue moon. I tell her, my grandma tells her, but she doesn't care, she just keeps playing. I'm so fed up with it..... 
My cousin's husband once won a million dollars that way. He used to play a lot. That being said, it sounds almost like your mom might have an addiction. It is so tragic when the addicted do not realize the toll their habit takes on the quality time they have with others, how they relate to others, the money it sucks up and wastes, the debt it plunges you into, the things it causes you to lose because of unpaid bills and bad credit, the squalor some people are forced to live in for the same reason. It can bring danger and disease into your life if you become desperate enough to feed your habit. One of the saddest parts is when the addicted realize how much time they lost, how much time they wasted. Milestones they never saw, that they will never get back again. People lose so much due to addictions of all types. It causes such pain and suffering to those around them. Hurts them most. I pray your mother sees the light and gets help. I wish you courage to decide what the next step for you will be. Peace. |

If she can afford it and enjoys it, it is not a big deal. My folks couldn't afford it, they had over $50,000 in credit card debt and I was supporting them, except for the credit card bills, I refused to pay them. So I do understand heartburn when people who can't afford it burn money on lottery tickets. But that is my issue. If she can afford it, just let her have fun. If it is driving her into debt and she can't pay her bills, then it is an issue. My 2 cents, anyways. Well said. He can choose to enable her, or not. His choice. |
