Sorry to hear about this. There will always be the shallow types out there, but such is the way of life, both online and off. The 1 or 2 friends who stick around in the end make it worth all the grief. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. And remember...it's a reflection of them and NOT of you!

What about the people who say,"No picture...don't bother writing, I won't write back". Then you look at THEIR profile....no pic of themselves, just some cartoons or animals.
Makes me want to shake my head 
As for me. I don't put a pic of me up by choice. If that turns anyone off, too bad. If anyone asks, I'll be more that happy to send them a picture to their e-mail address. I've done this several times. Some of us do like to enjoy a bit of privacy. |

One must remember, physicality is the first thing you notice about a person. Everyone has different taste, why would you want to spend time chatting with someone who you wouldn't be physically attracted to? It's just a fact.

This is a personal choice. I wasn't comfortable putting a pic up at all at first. Then I didn't spend any time on the site so it was just as well. When I began to check it out, I realized I should download a picture to share if people were curious. Fair is fair, I want to know what people look like too. My choice was to not have a pic as my "main" pic as you can see but I do have a few pictures if you click on my profile.
So there's my 2 cents...

i think it nice to know the person who you are talking to and what they look like without having to always have to ask to question so what do you look lik eand how do we know if its really what they look like

it's not always a matter of being attracted to the pic of the person i talk to, i just like to KNOW who im talking to, even if it's just a face pic. it makes things a little more real than just talking to a blue box.
but if you dont want to post a pic up, that's fine too; as long as we have good conversation and you're within my age requirements. then maybe if i get to know you better, you'll feel more comfortable about sending me a pic of you privately. |
