Desert
In the turning silence, The desert finds her rain. Sifting through the branches, That appear amid the plain. Underneath the sandy, Rocky, blanket sleeps, A pool of water flowing, Her river that she keeps. Her surface looks quite lovely. The wind blows dry around, Keeping her from building Mountains, only mounds. You can see the distance, Hoping for a place, More than an oasis, Respite, lasting, trace. The desert keeps her roots, With soil she packs around. Just enough, she waters, To live and feel and sound. For even in her silence, She turns and she surveys. He will recognize her, Love will be his face. Raine Les 6/19/2008 |
