Debbie, I don't mean to be rude or sound judgmental but it sounds to me like you may have a problem with prescription drugs and maybe your doctor recognizes that is trying to help you get off them before the addiction gets out of control.

It's really more about money then anything else, that business. |

my doctor weaned me of lorazepam and replaced it with valium while weaning me of the lorazepam. i saw him today and he said hes going to wean me off the valium, and im like WTF,why did you replace the lorezapm with valium, if ive got to be weaned off the valium as well. so this time im going to be weaned off the valium, and ill have nothing to replace it. why the hell did he give me diazapam in the first place, now its going to be harder as ive got nothing to replace it with. does anyone know of any benzos you can have long term?? i dont think ill cope without them ![]() ![]() ![]() If you are on the valium for an anxiety disorder, I don't think he can take you off of it. You might want to discuss this with him. From my understanding, some people with certain disorders do benefit from benzodiazepines. ![]() If he won't listen to you it might be time for another doctor. |

sounds like your doctor gave you the valium so that you wouldn't feel the full effect of the withdrawel from the lorazapam. You now have to get off the valium and there is nothing to replace it with. The withdrawal effects from valium are not as severe as the withdrawel from lorazapam. weather you realize it or not your doctor is trying to put you through the least amount of pain possible. You do not want to be on either drug for any length of time both are very addictive.

For some people with anxiety disorders (not substance abuse) benzodiazepines help immensely with the anxiety and to control panic and help people live productive lives. |

I work at a substance abuse treatment center and we use benzo's to help clients control panic/anxiety. Debbie talk to your doctor he should know you and your condition better than any of us. I'm sure he can do something to help with your anxiety. Best wishes ![]() |
