I have 11 of the world's greatest nieces and nephews, along with two great-nieces now. They are some of my greatest joys in life. They range in age of 1 yr - 29 yrs old.

As they were younger, I made concrete stepping stones for my flower beds and yard of their hands and feet imprints. Those are precious to me, little hands and feet - so cute...especially as some of them have grown up now.
They still go check them out now, show them to their spouses, etc. It was a special thing to do with them then and they obviously treasure the memory as much as I do to this day.

As much as I would hate to part with these treasures...do I start giving them to the older ones now as they are establishing their own homes and having their own children??

Some have asked what I plan on doing with them...I think they want them, but I would so miss seeing them amongst my flowers and yard every day.

Aww sounds nice.

I sure don't know your feeling of attatchment to these stones, but I would give them away. I'm sure your nieces and nephews would greatly appreciate it - I know I wish I had something nice like that. Maybe when they reach a stepping stone in their life (buy a house, has a child, gets married, etc) you can give it as a gift or something. If you do decide to give them away, before you do maybe you could take a nice photo of your nieces and nephews holding their stones or something. That way, you can always look back at the photograph and be reminded of them.

Hmmmm...perhaps 'gift'the stone to the over 25's with children.... then for every niece and nephew on their 25 birthday, gift them their stones.

Perhaps create a montage with all of them first, photograph them, then get the photo enlarged and framed, so every one of them is always with you.

SO lovely to read such a beautiful and positive experience, thankyou.flowerforyou

Thanks, that is great advice.
I thought about their high school graduations, but they were most just going off to college so that wasn't practical! So they got a homemade quilt for that...

I thought about when they each got married...but couldn't part with them so they got another homemade quilt for their life as a couple together.

I thought about when they have their first home with a yard too...the 3 oldest are now married. But I just couldn't part with them then yet either!

I like the photo idea, I can never have enough pictures of them!

Thank You!flowerforyou

Great advice too!
I just thought of something...start doing ones of their children (two have babies now) for them and give them their own stone at the same time.

But this time I am making TWO - one to keep forever and one to give to them!! laugh
