I didn't start out wanting a LDR. And it is really hard. Roller Coaster hard....but, If you are drawn to that person...there isn't much you can do except hope for the best.

Thats all we can do. Never know who were going to meet:smile:

I wouldn't want to leave beautiful Arizona, but if I met "the one" and she lived across the country I'm not going to give up happiness just to live in a particular place. If she couldn't move then I would. Of course, finding out if they are "the one" becomes increasingly difficult in direct proportion to the distances involved, so I think I have a much better chance of nurturing a relationship to that point if the person lives within at most a 3-4 hour drive for me. Just the realities of an LDR for me. bigsmile flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

BINGO --- I mean honestly most of us are not with our 'forever afters' or The One or we wouldn't be here.
If that happened and it was Real and Good, I wouldn't let miles seperate me from that in my life.flowerforyou

I agree with you, there is a lot of communication that has to be on a LDR. But no one will answer my questionlaugh Why if anyone that feels this way would you expect anyone to make the effort if your not willing to meet half way.

I cannot speak for anyone else only for myself....I am not willing at this point in my life to leave where i live...because of my kids and family here and my kids have planted roots in the school and friends etc.etc....so for me to get into a LDR would be just nuts...wouldnt happen....its nice to fantasize about it...so to chit chat with others on here..is fine with me....as far as others in my area there arent many..lol.....but hopefully in about 5 years when my youngest graduates.....i am outta here....time for mom to live....NY is just getting old for me......lol
does that help Shadow????

Under 5 hours, I will meet half way...or go the whole distance, getting a block of time where I won't be called into work every 30 min is my problem....but I'll take care of it.

I think it is only fair that you meet half way.....

One out of how many that said anything about it.

Thank youdrinker

Meet half way? For get togethers? Sure absolutely.
But I would love to see his home turf and what's special to him there and vice versa by sharing my turf and area for visits.

Move to half way and you both have to relocate? Don't know...all depends on each situation, young kids, jobs, roots, etc. about where you ended up permanently together, maybe one of your locations now or not, or start over together somewhere totally different! Possibilities are endless!!!!
